Dual trait builds? Any news on this?
Any news on multiple (or dual) trait builds? I really miss this from GW1. The ability to switch between different builds was amazing and efficient. As it is now, we need to re-trait everytime we reset our builds.
yeah i really don’t understand why they took out the ability to ping builds, save and load them

yeah, maybe with time when everything else is patched and fixed, they’ll implement this along with a wardrobe so I can quick switch to another set of armor AND trait build :/. Heck, i’ll even pay the 3.8s to use this function per switch if that is what they’re worried about, their gold sink.

You can buy multiple training manual books for 10s for on the go retraining.

could also order them on trading post. cheaper.
Not having to visit the trainer to respec and having build templates again would both be nice.
and if you use the adept manual to respec, aren’t you stuck at adept level traits?
The manuals only unlock the trait level, with a trait reset that happens. Once you’ve used a manual on a character it can’t use that manual again.
To reorganise your traits after you’ve used the manuals you need to vistit a trainer to reset them.
Being able to quickly switch between trait builds would be very helpful. This would be especially helpful when moving between PvE and WvW.
I’d like to be able to switch between different trait builds on the go. Even if you get a little prompt saying “It will cost x amount to switch your traits. Are you sure?” I assume the current system has the cost to provide a small gold sink.
I enjoy my tanky warrior, but every once in awhile I just want to see some big numbers.
Being able to save and switch would be great. Did Rift patent this? Because it is a no brainer as a great game feature as well as easy to implement. So not sure why GW2 doesn’t do it.
I can’t remember specifically, because its been so long, but initially Guild Wars 1 had locked attributes, or a limited number of times you could re-spec.
Later on, they introduced the “in town” on the fly respec system, which pretty much made it awesome.
Guild Wars 2 needs a LOT of things, from bug fixes to class balancing, but this is something so simple and obvious (especially since it was in the last game!) that i can’t believe it wasn’t in at release.
I get that ANet wants GW2 to have a viable gold sink, to avoid inflation and such once everyone reaches the level cap. But you should be able to respec your whole build while out of combat, perhaps not free, but at least make it so you can respec from the skills window (still paying a fee) and not have to travel back to a trainer.
What would be awesome too is allow, like WoW did, a dual spec system, where you can buy with gold a second spec slot that you can FREELY switch between while not in combat. Maybe include a wardrobe switch as well, so the Berserker Staff Ele can switch to a PVT D/D setup while on the move from castle defense/siege to roaming.
I actually prefer it the way it is. It would be silly to have the ability to switch on the fly.
However, it would be amazing if I could save builds and swap between them at the trainers.

Oh i agree. It should have restrictions, especially in dungeons and spvp, or if in combat. It would just be nice to have like GW1 has it.
