Guild Wars 2

Some other mmos have the ability to duel other characters in your server at any time. I would really like if this was implemented into guild wars 2.
Just like you can invite another player to a party only now you can invite him/her to duel also. It would be a fantastic way to easily test builds and just have fun matches with your friends. This option would be applicable anywhere but pvp obviously. Anyone else think so?

I agree. They are already talking about duels for some time now, but so far nothing.

you can easyli duel with anybody in tpvp. buy an own arena or buy with your guild or just search an empty one and anybody from your party ccan join to you by a right click on your picture in party i dont want idiotss to spam me with pvp invites.

IMO the problem with dueling is that the dev’s have stated in the past that this game isn’t balanced for even 1v1 fights. They balance for small scale team fights (like in s/t PvP).

This. Also, browse some. There’s a multi-page merged thread about duelling, basically pointing out how many problems it would cause, and with some suggested alternative approaches to the open world duelling mechanism. (arena’s for dueling, private instances generated upon initiating a duel, or dedicated PvP type servers which allow for PvE gear, among others)

This is why the search function needs fixing.

As long as Dueling is kept to an arena setting im fine with it but no open world dueling.

To make it simple and perfect for open world dueling with pve gear all they would need to do is implement an option to have dueling turned on or off so not everyone has to do it or get spam messages and also make dueling disabled in any of the major cities.

Dueling has already been implemented in a custom arena someone made. The match never started, and all you would see were 1v1s. Guaranteed you had a troll decide to zerk in every now and then. Only way to duel would be to take it to PvP and honor 1v1 like the good ’ole days.
I do support this though. Would make the trolls shut up when they get beat.
