Guild Wars 2

Howdy guys, just wondering if there will be any dueling coming to guild wars 2? i think it would be alot of fun and encourage people to get into pvp more!

Those people who already PvP will need little reason to PvP more. Those of us who don’t PvP will not be swayed by constant “dool me brah” spam and duel invites.

My personal opinion is no.
The reason is that I have played games with this option and hated it. The main reason is the aggressiveness off people inviting you for duelling. This game is very chat friendly and has a lot less griefing then those other games. duelling would ruin that in my opinion. If you want to duel you can 1v1 in the hearts of the mists.

A specific dueling area (hotm) would be nice, but I wouldn’t want it in open world.

Inb4 exaggerations of duel spam and harassment

There is a video floating around somewhere, where one of the devs confirms they want to do this at some point. He also acknowledges that you can duel in sPvP right now if you make a custom game and that it is awkward, but doable in the meantime.

If you don’t believe me i’ll dig it up, but for the sake of laziness i urge you to trust me.

Wouldn’t mind duel being put in so long as I didn’t have to go to an arena. Maybe more like it is in borderlands if anyone has played that xD. True you would get some angry jerks shouting for a duel but hey that’s what mute is for I just want to have it so I could fight some friends try out some builds and waste time while waiting for someone to “brb”
