Has anyone else noticed that they can’t find a group to run dungeons in story mode? I know I got to 80 later than most, but it seems like no one runs the dungeons in story mode. Because of this, I haven’t been able to run Citadel of Flame, Honor of the Waves, Crucible of Eternity or The Ruined City of Arah I literally have spent hours just trying to find people to run CoF never to get a full party.

I know that some other people must be encountering this issue and I think that it could be mitigated by the addition of a dungeon finder. What are your thoughts on this?

I don’t think that they ever will implement one, unfortunately. Most people don’t care to run story mode, and only enjoy playing Fractals anymore. They do it for the gear and loot, not the gameplay. This new ascended gear is really screwing crap up.

I also would love a dungeon finder of some sort. I’m still not 80 yet, but I haven’t been able to find groups for any Story mode things. Usually I can find one or two others but then it takes so long trying to find more that the ones I do find end up leaving.

I just want to see the story, but everyone else seems to be all about the gear. -.-

Making a group for a dungeon seems harder to do than the dungeon itself. A Dungeon Finder would make grouping a lot easier and there are no downsides to having it implemented.

I don’t have any problem finding people to run dungeon stories. Saturday I did CoF story with random people who were in front of the gates for the same reason as me, took me less than 3 minutes to make a group. Maybe your server is underpopulated, try recruiting in LA.

Dungeon finders can be so tricky and players have so seemingly diametrically opposed camps. One side thinks a dungeon finder hinders dungeon crawling culture, the other that it would help. Perhaps what dungeon crawlers need is just better ways to chat while out in the world.
Would a chat channel dedicated to dungeon crawling be useful?
If such a channel existed what should be it’s range:map, server, game?
If such a channel existed would non crawler’s be able to learn that polite LFGs in general are not the same as WTSs?

Given the experience with having to spam a specific map chat just to find a group, I would say “no” to a “dedicated chat channel”.

ANet is probably working on an in-game version of this or a genuine Dungeon Finder.
But in the mean time, that site is awesome. Always have a full group within 5 minutes.

Lion’s Arch map chat is certainly used for finding groups but is far from specifically used for just that function. Any zone’s map channel is there for anyone and everyone to use for whatever they choose (within reason). If I understand the sentiment of your second paragraph, I agree that using an instanced zone’s map channel to find groups is inefficient. What I am describing would be similar to a trade channel that covered multiple zones. Yes there would be issues with this, especially the risk non-dungeon crawlers would use it as a communication tool. But what I am interested in, is a LFG tool that doesn’t simply pluck people out of the world and put them together. A LFG tool that allows discussion without being chained to a specific place.

Hope my description makes sense and it certainly does not claim to be perfect.

They’ve already stated they’re working on one. Meantime, they told us to use gw2lfg.com. Ha! Yeah, I just love using that for TA… hardly any requests and they’re all so old they probably don’t mean anything.

I truly believe an ingame lfg tool would make a difference, specially for under populated servers or players who the gw2lfg.com has not worked.

Search function on this forums seems to be broken, I mean that is the only reason why you would re-post a thread that has been posted at least 30 times already. Also the search function for your computer’s internet browser must be broken, no worries I think mine is too.

I mean after all Arena Net has already said they are working on Implementing a Dungeon search program for in game I mean they have clearly stated this. Yet we still get these threads, I know it is because you think they will do it faster if there is 100 threads of the same thing, when in reality it wont make the process any faster.

Always have 1 guild that is a ‘mob’ guild – That is, made up of people to run dungeons/WvW/sPvP etc. It’s not usually a serious hardcore guild, just a collection of people who like the same things

The more people ask for a proper Dungeon Finder, the more likely it is that they’ll understand how needed such a tool is in this game.

Like someone else pointed this out on the different thread, it looks like the developers don’t even play their own games…

The more people absently post stuff with out proper research the more the forums get flooded with useless threads like this. Cause you see if you did do any, just the slightest bit of research, you would know that arena net is putting a lfg in the game. Or maybe just read my post which is two post above yours
