Dungeon Kick Option
I don’t know about this other thread. How could it be abused if it required a unanimous vote?

Does it require a unanimous vote? I thought only one person had to confirm the kick initiation. Even if it was unanimous, it still gets abused. Go play Rift for a while and you will see. Some people just agree to every kick vote regardless just to get the dialogue out of the way. Other get all elitist and if you don’t have the perfect build in their mind, kick. Make one little mistake, kick. That’s not to say it is never used for legitimate reasons. But it only seems like a marginally good idea in the case where groups are formed via some LFG tool. As we don’t have one, little need for a kick option. I like the fact that there is no LFG tool; there’s nothing wrong with standing around in front of the dungeon and getting a group together with whoever is available.
There is nothing wrong with standing around for you maybe. My free time is extremely valuable to me.

ummmm – the kick requires four ppl to vote yes – if four ppl no longer want to play with you for ANY reason then yes, you should have to leave regardless if you want to or not.
not to mention, WHY would you want to try to continue to play with those four ppl if they DONT want to play with you?
Are you a masochist or something?

If you get invited by as the last person to a group, and the other 4 suddenly dont want you along anymore, why did they invite you in the first place then?
If they dont want to play with you why invite you in the first place?
I’m not saying I disagree with you, just trying to get a different angle on it.
Inviting someone to a group for a dungeon and go half way then suddenly decide they dont want you along anymore, how is that any better than the vote kicking system?
I had such an issue with CoE a few days ago.
I got invited to a group for story mode, and after wiping on the first few mobs a few times they asked me to leave because they wanted a guild mate along.
At least they had the courtesy to ask me politely, instead of just kicking me.
But why invite someone if you are just going to ask them to leave again, or just kick them later?
On the subject of vote kicking.
It can be abused even if you need 4 votes.
Who is to stop 4 players from inviting someone to a group and start a run, only to kick the player from the group later, just for the fun of it?
Someone can take a player with them all the way through a run and then kick him just before they kill the last boss, because they get a laugh from it.
Nobody likes that, and some people can get outright hostile when you do it.
I know some people takes these things very serious, even if its only a game.
Not everyone have time to play for hours on end, and nobody likes to have their time wasted by griefers, especially not when that time is limited.
The kicking system has more bonuses than they do bad.
Guild Wars may not be as bad as other games, but there are elitists no matter where you go, and they exist in GW too. If you go into a group to do a Dungeon and you don’t know any of them, you are personally taking the risk of working with a bunch of jerks. I would rather leave a dungeon have way through if they don’t want me there, then to just keep going with their negative energy and possibly rude comments. I’d just leave myself. And if I’m being a jerk, then they have every right to kick me out. It’s my fault.
That’s why you should just do Dungeons with people in your Guild, or friends. Otherwise, you’re always taking a risk.
Wasn’t someone complaining that the new dungeon set up created a BIG problem via “kicking”.
IE: 5 people go through the dungeon, but right before the final boss.. you get kicked out, so they can invite a guildie/friend to finish the dungeon.
While this wouldn’t usually be a problem, the new dungeon design = you will NOT get any tokens because you didn’t “finish” ~ mean while, that guildie gets a chest full of free tokens. *(60 if I’m not mistaken).
~ just my 2 cents ~
Maybe they suddenly don’t want to play with you because you are having a bad day and are grumpy. Or you keep DCing, or you are a hater, elitist, know-it-all or any number of other reasons.

afaik you cant get the reward unless you have personally killed ALL the bosses, including the last one – so kicking a random player from a 5man to invite a friend for the reward would be pointless since their friend would not get the reward

Ok and?
you cant make ppl want to play with you – if the majority no longer want to play with you then you should leave, its really that simple
the majority should not have to leave in order to not play with you just because you want to stay there by yourself in a dungeon you cant run by yourself…
