If you want to grab and hold onto another section of the gaming population:

Dungeon Queue, cross server, intra region

Make instanced versions of the dragons that a whole squad can enter, bonus reward chest once a week, like guild missions (if implemented as a guild mission make sure ANYONE in the guild can trigger it not just officers)

I know it’s not the traditional guild wars approach, but why not add this and make more money?

First off all
‘if implemented as a guild mission make sure ANYONE in the guild can trigger it not just officer’

This is not something for arenanet to decide cause they have given the power to do so allready to the guildleader. The guildleader can give each rank in the guild the power to activate guildmissions. If yours has given it only to himself and officers and not to regular members and if you disagree with that I would advise to discuss that with your guildleader or find a different guild with a different policy on the matter.

For the rest your whole post is a bit vague to be honest. A dungeon is nothing more then an instance, why would there be need for a queue? and what does it have to do with an instanced guildmission. I personally wouldn’t want the world bosses like dragons be guild exclusive.

A dungeon queue is an lfg tool for which you sign up, then (usually) wait for enough other members to sign up so you can then join them inside the instance. It’s called a queue b/c the spots are given out in the order signed up. That would especially be true for this game, as you don’t have to wait for certain trinity roles to be filled.

You would be able to sign up for any of the story mode, explorable mode, fractal ranges, or all of the above and wait till you get to join. This is really no different than the current system, except you don’t have to spam or watch for spam in LA or the dungeon’s zone or use a third party web site like gw2lfg…

It reduces ‘active’ waiting by 100%, since you know, eventually, you will join a dungeon group. It also will provide dungeon goers with many more companions to adventure with, as it is much more convenient to do them. If someone dies and ragequits, you can requeue to have someone join you inside the dungeon you’re already working.

See the benefits?

The instanced dragons were not a replacement for the great open world events that already exist, but a way to enhance the game by adding teamwork options.

Imagine you can only bring 20 people into Tequatl fight. The laser MUST hit Teq in order to bring him below 80, 60, 40, and 20 percent. So a whole group of people will have to defend the laser.

Now a whole group of people will have to destroy the bone walls and deal with the adds coming in to your main teq force.

These 10 people will have to kill Teq, preferably also requiring them to kill the fingers, lest they all be killed by the tough AE damage should they be knocked into wing droppings.

Also, you would not be able to use a waypoint during the event, so revives matter.

See the difference compared to current open world content?

Ty for the info about guild missions; I will definitely bring that up with leadership.
