First off I think this idea would help the community.

This would be on a weekly timer so people wouldn’t abuse it.

For each different story mode you complete you would receive 1 laurel per dungeon max 8 per week. To clarify once you received a laurel for a particular path that week you could not get it again.

Since there is not a currently any type of dungeon currency tied to story mode this would be helpful to get players to find groups to get the explorable modes for particular dungeons unlocked for others. The laurels would give enough incentive to draw people who have done it to do it again.

Based on averages:
30 daily laurels (30 days in a month)
10 monthly laurels
24 weekly dungeon laurels (4 weeks in a month)

Total in a month possible: 64 (give or take)

Side note: this could help cure some of the new high priced laurel items we have on the vendors currently.

I especially like this last part, which seems to suggest that the pricing is something they want to “cure.” As if it were somehow an accident and they didn’t mean for it to be expensive.

I am all for finding ways to make Story mode more interesting, but I tend to suspect this is not the way.

My thought is that you simply want another way to farm laurels so that you can max out your gear is the shortest time possible.

i like the idea of using story mode to give laurel rewards, since no one wants to do story mode, you can only do story mode if some pugs are willing to help you, or if you are in a guild,

(honestly i have not finished story mode, dungeon master title, because everytime i asked the players in the map, only a few respond, and usually it takes forever to form a group)


and if i am using gw2lfg.com they respond so slow, i did an experiment if it is just slow or no one want to run it,

if i posted LFM exp mode and tadaaaa in less that 2 minutes a group is formed,

if i posted LFM story mode tadaaa minimum of 30 minutes to form a group

I’ll bite, the item prices are great if you have one toon. For people that have multiple toons the high end gear is somewhat out of reach. Also for those who say this is a farm method for laurels is completely false. Farming would be allowing players to get a laurel each time they finished any story mode dungeon with no cap limits. This would just provide an alternate route to getting more laurels at a moderate speed that is controlled.

I like this idea.

It’s a good cure to the man-made problem of time gating that they have created.

You are getting them at a moderate speed that is controlled already. Tell you what, I would agree to this with the caveat that all laurel prices are increased by a factor of 3. That way, you don’t get gear any faster than without this system.

Was just about to post this. Ascended acquisition times are perfect as they are. Boulder-locking all the bosses in AC story should not give you any laurels.
