I bought this game recently and i find it very hard to get 4 people to do a dungeon story-mode with me. The reason for this, i think, is that everyone else have done the story-mode already and are doing the explorer-mode, cause they get something out of it.
So my suggestion is simple, add some sort of reward for doing the story-mode in a dungeon a second time, like half the price someone get for doing the explorer-mode.
I think that would increase the chances for low-level characters to do a dungeon story-mode.

I would agree with this, once the story mode had been done there is no incentive to do it again. Less experience and money can mean you make a loss helping someone who hasn’t been through before.

This means some dungeons are really hard to get parties for story mode, the worst I have found so far are Twilight Arbor and Sorrows Embrace no one wants to do them again because its not worth it.

Good options to make it worthwhile doing again are same money each time I mean its not that its going to be easier second time it all depends on the party, I struggled more on my second run through Sorrows Embrace than the first. Alternatively an increase chance of getting magic items.

If you worry about people farming it in this case you could try to implement some way of only applying the bonus if at least 1 or 2 people haven’t already been through Story Mode

Personally I would like it if they just fixed the dungeons at all… I STILL haven’t completed a dungeon because AC is impossible to do with five random strangers, which is all I have to work with.

I would not do storymode even if it gives me the same rewards. Some of the storymode missions are harder than explorable mode.

If you want help, join a guild and ask for help.

You aren’t gonna presuade me and others that run explorables to run SM for 1/2 credit. Here is why:

The SM takes you through the ENTIRE dungeon, while explorable cuts that up.
SM bosses and trash are usually tougher than some explorable dungeons.
If you are running SM than you most likely are 100% new to the dungeon and will make the run take longer.

A run that can take 20 mins in explorable can run between 40-60 in SM (TA/HoTW for example).

The easiest solution is to make SM soloable and reduce the rewards. It was stated back in Beta that SM being a forced 5 man dungeon with little reward wouldn’t hold later on. It will crack and break 6 months in. Even worse they tied the personal story to Arah 5 man instance.

Can’t wait till people can’t finish their personal story due to nobody running Arah SM.

I pugged CM and AC for the first time story mode and yes it was hard to find a group. We ended up 4 manning CM and then had a full 5 for AC.. I would not say it is hard to find a group because the content hard though. I think it is more lack of interest. We finished both of these just fine and were all strangers to each other outside my husband and I.
