Dungeon mentality should stop
Level 80 exotic gear has the same weight in stats (different distribution) no matter if it comes from Karma (which can be earned thru PvE), dungeons, or badges from WvW.
Unless I missed something, that means that dungeon gear is no better than doing regular PvE events and earning Karma to get your gear.
They could have made a dungeon finder that would have completely removed those pesky LFG posts in the chat.
We know ANet is capable of doing it, they just don’t do it for some reason..

There is no place in normal PvE to get Ascended gear yet. So, as i see them focusing a lot on these Fractal dungeons, there are less to none chances to be added in PvE anytime soon. I know, its not needed in PvE atm, but still it is restricting players from having the same new stats.
Jan/Feb patch is going to revamp open world rewards, to make open world more fun and more challenging, have some patience, they already acknowledged the “dungeon mentality” issue and they certainly don’t want this game to be a “dungeon” game.
Same with WvW, in February we will see Ascended rewards there too which means WvW players won’t have to play fractals for better gear, but get it by doing WvW.
I’m guessing we will be able to get ascended gear from open world events as well, I just hope they make them challenging/hard enough, otherwise it is dungeons that will die this time, both are needed for healthy PVE.
Yeah, I’m still trying to get around to doing all those storyline dungeons myself. I figure they’re there because a chunk of the players like them, but having them being part of the story kind of makes me feel I have to do them… eventually… and the LFG thingy is a bit of a drag. So I’ve sort of put it off ’til last.

Why are dungeons a part of PVE anyway while they have a totally opposite mechanic?
I don’t exactly see how dungeons can be considered “Environment versus Player” if Open World PVE isn’t considered the same.
For me i do dungeons but dont really enjoy them that much dont know why.
Feel to inclosed i guess, but i like the openess of doing the dragons and such.

I agree, the open world PvE is a bore in terms of finding people to play with, and you need other people to deal with the mobs everywhere.
Consequently, most players hang around outside dungeons and some big group events. That’s all you hear about in the chat , and legendary weapons.
Many of those dungeon players are rude and in a hurry , terrible team players , bored and just grinding for rewards.
There is no joy in the dungeons unless you have a maxed-out character and a good team.
