Dyes on backpieces?
No time for that maybe, but would be very good.
When they make mutch more back item, dyes may useable on them also.

The backpieces are in the jewelry slots and those slots don’t have dye channels. Armor was designed from the ground up to have dye channels. For backpieces to have dye channels, they would have to be completely redesigned. This would mean a reworking of the whole area. I doubt ANet has the time right now to spend reworking this area then ironing out the bugs when there are so many other things they are working on.
They have talked about Legendary jewelry in the future, which may have an aura. That will probably be their focus rather than dye channels.

I would like the dye panel to at least show the backpiece, to better enable color matching whilst dying. Hmm… why not show weapons as well for the same reason, add a “hide/show equipment” function.
Then why they brake if they’re jewellery?
Its in the middle of two…

Good question. They are in the jewelry area and they hold exquisite jewels like the other jewelry but they break like armor. Do the underwater helms break? I don’t think they do. I don’t recall ever seeing a broken one. Maybe those can’t break for some reason so they made backpieces break in its place so you get an additional chance before you get broken armor. Just speculating. ^^
Underwater helms break. They’re simple armors auto-equipped uppon diving.

Please. I’m tired of matching my character to my backpack.
Agreed, the guild backpack would look amazing in Black
Plus weapon dyes, we need weapons dyes

The underwater breather takes the place of your helmet (you may have noticed your helmet disappearing underwater). Your helmet is switched for your breather when you go underwater and your breather is switched for your helmet when you go on land, so your helmet cannot break underwater and your breather cannot break on land.
it is silly that we can dye armor but not weapons or back items.

The underwater breather also cannot be dyed, nor are there any rare or exotic breathers in the game and there is only one skin for the breathers.
Why are we not able to dye backpieces?
There’s a reason backpieces are being used as rewards for Living Story content…they’re easy to make. They don’t have to do a lot of work to make them look right on all five races, and they don’t have to do a lot of work to make them dye-able. Because of this, the artists are able to keep up with the frantic Living Story release schedule.

Still, there is not much point in having a Rare or Exotic breather if you can’t get the right stats.
