Dying Weapons with Dyes from GW1! =]
Given that some weapons are only distinguishable from others by their colors, I’m going to guess….no. Seriously just take a look at a Mystic Rifle (Needing about fifty skill points and a bunch of Mystic Coins to craft) and a Dark Asuran Rifle (a dungeon reward that you can get in a day or two); identical except one is blue and the other red.
I know there are weapon sets out there like the asuran set (i believe they glow pinkish) but perhaps I would want it to be Blue, Green or Yellow one day. It’s not about how distinguishable it looks from other weapons but more towards coloring the weapon to your liking. There’s a fun factor to it that’s casted aside from GW1 and a shame to not have it implemented in GW2.
For you or I perhaps that is true. But you’re neglecting to take into account all the people who go for a given weapon for the prestige of it. People who don’t actually care what the thing looks like, so long as everybody knows what they had to go through to get it. And for those people the idea that someone could just re-color a lesser weapon to look exactly like the one they “worked their butt off” to get is probably offensive.
Sometimes you have to disregard what you would like and think about what the community wants, and based on how most people seem to play the game I’d say it is a safe bet that most players are much more focused on the reward part of “cosmetic reward” and care little for the cosmetic part. A lot of players don’t care what their character looks like, so long as everyone looking is jealous of those “awesome” prestige items.
Don’t have to make ALL weapons dyeable then, do you? ._.
How about making weapons dyeable, that don’t have other color sisters and brothers. Or how about making at least the hilt parts dyeable for ‘standard looking’ weapons. To allow to make matching looks with armor. Because as of right now, if you go for a certain armor look, you have VERY few weapons if ANY to chose from that will match your look with is super annoying.
it’s a problem in GW2 but absolutely no one cares about it in GW1, fine argument guy’s, really supportive…..
