The point of this thread is to introduce a weather system that affects the gameplay itself.

Imagine WvW under harsh weather conditions which should be the case as history has shown time and time that weather plays a vital role in waging war. Snowy conditions creating scenarios where players’ movements are hindered, rain causing flame rams to be less efficient unless buffed by fire fields or covered from the rain, windy conditions causing long range trebuchets to require calculated precision.

Imagine PvE bosses and content that are directly affected by the weather such as Teqautl’s poisonous venom spreading even further due to the harsh rain conditions. Random blizzards affecting the vision of players as the claw of Jormag attacks frostgorge.

It would probably be hard to code this in (from a POV of zero coding experience), but having an RNG weather per day would make the game far more interesting that it already is. Seasons directly affecting WvW and PvE content would create a new perspective in fights and how to approach them.

I wouldn’t have a problem with this. Introduces some variability to otherwise repetitive fights.

I also would love to see a more influential dynamic weather system in place that affected gameplay. I love the idea of fire not working or being less efficient in rain, snow/blizzard storms, desert storms etc.

Whilst I personally would love it, I’m sure there would be plenty of people that wouldn’t. For example if you were an Ele you probably wouldn’t be too happy about having an entire fire tree locked out…or would you?

Strong wind at the top of mountains could be interesting
