I play pvp quite a bit and I get to experience many classes.
I have a level 80 and although levelling in this game isn’t as big a grind as others, after doing it once and being close to map completion I really have no interest in doing it all over again.
I know quite a few people who look at their level 20/30s and just sigh having no willingness to continue it, and return to their 80.
So I suggest an option for others out there who feel this way.
Exp share~ similar the one form Pokemon lol. half (or all) exp is transferred to another character, allowing just normal play and dungeon runs count for levelling alts.
How is this fair? Well it’s PvE is it really a big deal to have access to more 80s? All you really “NEED” is one, but having options is just nice and more choice for RP. But since someone is going to complain.
1 slower legendary, yes it would be slower getting a legendary while levelling however since you need an accumulated number of skill points on a single character it still hampers your progress.
2 gear treadmill, It’s going to still exist once you hit 80. You don’t get instant exotics.
3 achievements, story/map completion, will all still need go be finished so no one is cutting ahead using this method.
Other benefits?
Ever heard if people wanting to call for a profession change/race change? This would be not only viable for how the system works in terms of how the story and achievements work but would be a favourable alternative.
Exp boosters useless QQ. well not really! They still help boost exp to get skill points for legendaries plus the option to use a system like this could also be implemented through the use of the gem store. Maybe an hour by hour basis is a little weird when working with a system like this how about an item that needs a 24 hour activation for the cost of 200 gems? I’m sure there are balanced methods to still support A-net with their bottom line, but that’d be the job of their marketing department I’d guess?
I’m sure there are other uses but over all I think this would not be a horrible system.

What happens to lower level zones if no-one needs to ever level an alt again because of this method?
Well because of the way achievements and future areas are being handled, low level areas would still have population. Plus new people will always be coming as old people leave. also those who find the first bit not to be worth spending a share on would not use it. The low level areas would not be empty ^^
Also again for completing hearts and map.
the whole point of leveling is to give people time to learn how to play a class, if someone can get a class to 80 without ever playing it by ‘sharing XP’ that’s a loss for everyone.
Do we really need a bunch of level 80’s with no weapon skills, ultilities or elites unlocked and people with no clue what they are doing?
If making an alt is too much of a grind for you … don’t do it.
Theres an much easier solution to this, from which Anet should (and could) also profit from…
Anet should sell via Gem Shop to only ccounts, which have at least 1 character with 100% map completion “Explorator Maps”
Explorator Maps for xxx Gems would instantly reveil the corresponding map part where you are in, if you use that item for that character, which uses this item.
This instant map reveil will only make the map completely seeable with all POIS and Vistas automatically be done, but the character gets no exp by doing this.
The character has still to do then the Hearts and the SP’s.
Thats enough help for secondary characters to reach 100% map completion faster and Anet would make money from this also too…
People should play their other characters to get them to 80 ..not just play their main characters only and with that gettign everything else also to 80 without having ever played the other characters!
With my solution people will have it easier with twinks, but it will cost u something, so that anet can profit a bit from it too.
However.. id ever personally suport such thigns only, if Anet finally changes the game also so, that people can replay the personal story with characters and would make also hearts replayable to increase the amount of players hanging around in older places to motivate them more to do something in the old maps…

You can learn a class to be decent enough to go AC, CM, CoF, or fodder in WvW in a few hours. Not multiple days, stupid people who get to 80 and need an explanation of “doge” for the daily are always going to exist levelling from 1-80 or not. That is really dependant on the person. Bad people in parties should just be vote kicked lol.
