Q:

Hello Arena Net team. First of all i wanted to congratulate you on the creation of what is, in my opinion, one of the best mmorpg’s of the world and ask you to consider some suggestions iam making about the elementalist trait tree.

I have been playing elementalist for a long time, but only recently found a build that really makes happy and is, to me, intuitive and effective. I’m rather happy with where iam at right now with this class, but i feel like there are two things i think you could reposition and another that you should consider removing.

Talking about removing first, i believe that with the signet of air, the air passive Zephyr’s Speed does not make any sense anymore and so, i would suggest removing this and replacing it with the arcane precision from the arcane traits. This way, you would be gathering in air magic two passives that would function on the basis of triggering crits; while oppening up a slot on the arcane traits that would allow you to add more utility to the class and the tree itself.

Since not everyone will be building an elementalist that focuses only on triggering crits , but almost every ele builds required 30 points in arcane to be really op (my opinion only, you are welcome to disagree xD), i believe this would be beneficial to many players.

Finaly, i want to adress the problem that iam currently having with Renewing Stamina. Do not worry, iam not going to complain about it not working properly because it is.
It is just that, this major trait slot is really useful to our class since eles are squishy regardless of how you build them, and this allows us to dodge much more frequently. However, in the arcane traits, we almost always are going to need either element attunement or evasive arcana and, it is my oppinion again, that we have many major trait slots in air that arenĀ“t really that usefull. Therefore, it could be beneficial to place this particular major trait slot in air, whilst taking one major trait slot from air and put it in arcana, so we eles can get all that we need.

P.S. if you could, i would also like to pinpoint the need for further level advancement and new weapons and armor to go with it. Since iam certain that you have already thought about this, i would just appreciate any information you could provide me about when and if this is going to happen.

it’s been said, more than a few times, that any build is OP if the person playing it is able to play it intuitively. that means that for you, your ele build works perfectly — for me, it wouldn’t. saying that is my way of saying that some of what you’re asking for removal of are things that are useful to me, and my intuitive playstle — while others you’re asking to replace them with or add are not.

additionally, i am only squishy when i get hit, on my ele — which doesn’t happen all that often, due to my build and playstyle. my ele can successfully take on and manage everything up to and including several champions — not all, mind you, but most — and while it’s a LONG fight, it’s one that i can walk away from.
