Hello everyone!
Ive played and loved GW2 since launch but sometimes i get lost of what to do in the giant world of Tyria! And with such a beutiful world you should often revisit it and explore it to the max. Even after people get 100% map completion.

The idea just struck me and im going to bed like…now, so i need to keep this short.
Well as the titel says its about Endgame and about something we can call Elite Maps for now.

Elite maps is like a instanced version of every zone in Tyria with serveral objectives who will put the players of 15 (No more than 20) against mighty bosses and devestating quests which will make you scream like a litle girl everytime you face them.
They should be hard as hell but not frustratingly hard, just realy skillbased and LOTS of coordination and cooperation between teammates.

My vision of this is to make every map in the world (except cities and WvWvW ofc)
to also be a “elite map”. You could maybe press “M” for map and then click “elite map” to turn the complete world map into these objectives. Every map would be marked with a black Symbol on them so you can click/select them and see wich people would like to run the Elite Map etc. This black Mark would after a completed Map turn into a Brons/silver/gold mark if the map was completed in the requiered time limits.

The maps themself should be like GW1 maps were you enter a world and you got every mob and every boss to yourself or your party. If there were like 20 Different “missions” to complete on a certain map wich are hard and takes alot of time to complete there could be a system to “save” progress. An exampel of this is if me and my team, a total of 15 characters were up for a “elite map” lets say Gendarran Fields, we would spawn in one of maybe 5 different places on the map. After spawned we can press “M” for map view and you can see all the missions which has to be completed and in the corner of the map there should be a timer were the leader can stop at any time but it will make everyone leave the game.
The timer will be a great motivation for guilds to compete against eachother for grand prizes. Also with the new spectator mode there should be alot of interesting things to be done with “elite maps” and i think that there is alot of people who are interesting in watching pro PvE and not just PvP.

Well thats my idea!
The missions in the maps could vary from Dragons flying around terrorising the land to an army of flame legion who is marching forward to Lions Arch for a battle or maybe just a jumping puzzle.
The list could be endless but i realy believe the format of this could be pretty interesting for people as myself who realy love the world of Tyria and want to spend time in it but just dont feel motivated to do so.

Hope some of you guys liked the idea! And i hope some of you could maybe come up with other solutions or other twists to “elite maps”!

And if someone else has writen anything similare to this post please link the post below! ^^

Hope you all have a great day!
Goodnight!

I think this would be the best way to make the world feel empty. All the design decisions tend to fill the open world with more people. In your vision people would be in their instances and the world would feel empty. Guild Missions is the way to do what you suggested the right way imho. There have to be some rules though.

e.g. make a guild mission where a giant boss spawns on a map. You can only hurt the beast with charged weapons (weapons every guild member can take out of a box before the event starts).
-) the guild has a kind of instanced battle (because normal attacks from non-guildies can’t hurt the beast)
-) spawn a lot of support events where everyone can participate, so non guild members contribute in a meaningful manner without trivializing the encounter.
