Or transfer to your friends server. Sorry but I’m tired of the free transfers being abused by many because some can’t handle playing without a few friends cause either they won’t come or we can’t play on multiple servers.

Free transfers may end when guesting has been implemented. Until then, it’s something players are going to have to “deal with”. It’s really not the problem some are making it out to be.

I have friends on three servers. Some even on different continents. It’s bad enough that I now have to wait 24 hours between transfers, when we were told (before launch, during the pre-purchase period) that we would be able to join our friends on any server, at any time, to do PvE content with them.
yeah… no. WvW is in a terrible state even without free transfers. Disabling a working game feature to slightly improve a horribly broken one is not a good idea.
There are separate issues affecting PvE and WvW. Ending free transfers only addresses the WvW concerns. A comprehensive solution requires addressing both sets of problems.
- In WvW, low-cost transfers allow griefing/spying (e.g. someone from Server X joins Server Y to give feedback or waste supply).
- In WvW, frequent transfers allow people to join winning worlds, exacerbating differences between worlds and denying world-loyalty a chance to build.
- For guilds, moving worlds causes the guild to lose all influence and influence-built improvements.
- For PvE, people with friends on multiple words cannot play together easily unless guesting exists or transfers are free & unlimited.
A number of people have offered various creative solutions to address each of the above individually, but I would rather wait and see ANet address all the issues together. For example,
- Allow free transfers but prevent movers from playing WvW for a while.
- Change Power of the Mists so it depends only on the world you belonged to on Friday night (when the matches reset).
- Enable guesting.
- Allow guilds to pay (influence, badges, and/or coin) to move their improvements/influence to their destination world.
Around 80 people in my guild since release have changed servers… You would think this is a good thing? Wrong… They all went to superior servers solely for WvW wins. How is that helping server balance?
