End game Raids or maybe something else?
If they are open world raids and part of a event chain.
This thread will be locked in a few moments but… We wish.
Yeah, this is what a lot of people don’t get, because in the end ANet can do things the WoW way and even better since their level-scaling is more linear and moderate. It’s very easy for ANet to just do things the regular vertical progressive way and just introduce higher and higher level caps with new encounters. But obviously, this is not the way to go.
The real issue is if they can sustain their current design with their business model, which I believe is possible, but they’d have to sort of first figure out how to go about this new business model effectively and gain even more than just a regular-sub based model which is sort of a selfish thing. If i come up with a solution as to how to effectively go about with this new business model i’ll post it but they have their business people on this.
All you would really do is move the players that are QQ’ing about one area of the game to QQ’ing about Raids…..
“Boo hoo. Poor me. The Trading Post is being manipulated and I don’t want to work for the things I want in the game. ANet needs to fix this.”
“Boo hoo. Poor me. WvWvW is unbalanced and a total zerg-fest. I just want to get my PoI’s so I can get my Legendary do-dad. Anet needs to fix this.”
“Boo hoo. Poor me. I don’t want to be down-leveled in lower level zones. I want to ROFLSTOMP lvl 1 baddies like I can in <insert game name here>. Anet needs to fix this.”
Soon you’ll see….
“Boo hoo. Poor me. No one wants me in their raid group, but that’s where the best stuff in the game is. I’m not a good player, but Anet needs to fix this.”
@OP
While you stated in the beginning of your thread “don’t post…..this is not another WoW clone”…..
Why does GW2 need raids? Raids are something that WoW has. I’ve seen a LOT of good, and ORIGINAL, suggestions in these forums. Each time I see a suggestion to implement something from another game, I think to myself “This isn’t <insert game name here>.”
There are a LOT of things that GW2 does well. There are also a LOT of things in GW2 that could use improvement. Adding content that is just like another game isn’t one of those things though.
If you like raids, go play WoW. WoW HAS raids.
Logic will never win an argument on the forums…..only a sense of entitlement will.
Raids have never been apart of the GW franchise. Not sure why they would add them now.
The best your gonna get is the Temple of Balthazar event chain .

The Deep and Urgoz’s Warren disagree with you.
You might say those missions weren’t popular during the later phases of GWs live, but that was only because the rewards weren’t scaled up with the rest of the power creep in the game. When it was profitable(Zhaishen Bounty), pugs and guilds alike lined up like crazy to do them, because they were a lot more accessible than FoW and UW with their non completion methods.
I’m certain raids will come in the future, and I’m anxious to see what they will do with them.

Dang you just discribed DEs.
Now what game has those?
Where can you go to a lower level area get your level lowered to match and be able to do said DE?
GW2 maybe as it was designed to be played.
DEs ARE the endgame

With a party size of twelve they are not raids at all. They are missions, similar to the world boss dynamic events or other dungeons already in the game.
I would welcome more dungeons and the like, I do not welcome the idea of a raid where it takes an organised group of about 20+ players to clear a dungeon for a reward.
Not a fan of waiting around while a raid tries to gather enough people to run. It’s boring and like I said has never been apart of the guild wars franchise.
