The engineer ultis are poor setup

1. The supply drop is a basic must want in a lot of situations.
2. While the motar is good, it doesn’t have that large of a range (it is easy to close the gap on and dodge the shots if your chaging at it). Once an enemy gets in close, you can’t hit them, and its immobile. This means once the battle has moved, it turns useless. You can also destroy it.
3. Elixer X is fun, but random. Sometimes you want one transformation and get the one you dont want. Very annoying, making this skill unreliable

Suggestions:

1. Every engineer has seen it, the concept art of a Charr holding a bazooka. Well theres your solution to Motar. Make it so once you place it down, you can activate the ultimate again (like any turret) and pick it up, then it turns into a bazooka with a variety of skills. Maybe you get stability but you run 50% slower.
2. Everything about elixer X seems non engineery. You turn into a tornado (seems like this should be more of a elementalist thing) or you turn int a “brute”, which is just you glowing red. I understand its like a potion, but instead of those two you should activate the elite and instead of randomly turning into one of those things, you go inside a of Mech armor. Like the golems, except you look more charrish and its more offensive. You move the same speed, but have offensive spells.
Here are my ideas for the skills on it
1. Auto Attack – You have a arm with a circluar or regular chain saw as a hand. Causes a bleed every hit.
2. Chaingun – You have a chain gun on your other arm. This works like the rangers skill that lets them channel arrows on a single target firing at an increased rate of fire. Maybe it could apply a snare at the end or for every bullet that hits.
3. Thump! – Your mech’s legs are equipped thumper turret techonology that knocks back surrounding enemies
4. I think this should be something support ish to give this ability to provide support instead of it being considered a purely DPS ulti. Maybe it can lay down a healing field around itself for 10 seconds similar to the elixer guns #5, but it makes you unable to perform any actions while casting it.
5. Flares- Target a location and fire a barrage of flares, blinding and setting enemies on fire caught in it.

I just feel like most of the skills engineers use right now don’t feel like an engineer at all, except for a few things. Im either throwing small explosives, or drinking a bunch of potions that don’t really have a look at all. The turrets traits are glitched and rarely used. Elixer X would’ve have been a better elementalist skill see on what you turn into. Motar is bad unless your on a wall/hill in WvW. Supply drop is cool and good.

Mortar and especially X are subpar but crate is one of the best elites in the game. I think other classes need elite balance passes before us. Not that I wouldn’t like to see changes to our weak skills eventually.

It is good, but it gets boring. I’d rather have variety.
Mesmer polymorph and the timewarp are both excellent skills. I haven’t looked too much into the other classes Elites, but I find that engineers complain more about their elites than any other class.

But I should probably do some more research about public opinion on class elite skills before i say that previous statement confidently.
