When I made my engineer I wanted turrets. One thing I noticed was that when you go up to a turret it has the option to pick it up. Naturally, I thought this meant that you actually picked it up so that you could move it. But no. It just effectively destroys the turret. I was then taunted by the personal story when, in the Charr Iron legion, there’s a story mission where you are able to pick up turrets and place them where you want. I would like it if Engineer turrets functioned in a similar manner.

If you want to actually destroy the turret, you can just blow it up with your tool belt.

Yeah, I was also a bit disappointed with that. The ability to move them may be too much, but if it could at least lower the cooldown when you pick up a tower instead of destroying it, then it would add a incentive to actually pick them up over blowing them up…

I was just talking about this in chat earlier this morning, and after testing it, it seems that the cooldown IS 5 seconds lower if you pick it up rather than use the toolbelt skill to blow it up. I would agree, however, with having them actually be moveable like a Warrior’s banners, with maybe a 2 minute total lifespan before self-destructing and forcing the cooldown.

EDIT: If there are no plans to change the mechanics, perhaps the Interact tooltip should say something like “Salvage” rather than “Pick It Up”, indicating that the turret is destroyed in the process but that the parts recovered from salvaging allow the engineer to build another turret sooner than he/she would otherwise.
