It’s a suggestion that may get overlooked as its basically requesting a new skill be added, but I really feel that as an Engineer a long range sight ability would fit with the class.
World of Warcraft players will understand what I mean;
Hunters and Shamans had abilities which let them see far away areas.

I came up with this idea during WvW, where we needed someone to scout a camp to see how many invaders were attacking. Naturally a dangerous, pretty much suicidal mission.
From my position at a nearby keep I could see the camp, but the invaders were outside of my player draw distance (which is something that I find VERY annoying; if I can see the terrain that far away, why not the players?).
Here, an ability to see further away, maybe a Scope that zooms in and increases the draw distance but requires me to stand still to use it, this would have helped.

And then while discussing it with guildies, we all agreed that such an ability would fit in with the “Jack-of-all-trades” thing going on with Engineers.

So, my suggestion, as if it wasn’t already clear, is for engineers to get a long range sight ability.

Or you can send scout yourself. Don’t be lazy.

5x Warrior, 5x Ranger, 4x Elementalist, 4x Engineer,
4x Necromancer, 3x Mesmer, 4x Guardian, 4x Thief, 4 Revenant

Or you could say something constructive. Don’t be a butt-head.

Sounds like a Tool Belt skill, but since it doesn’t help with combat. How would you implement it while still keeping as attractive as other utilities?

Something like Utility Goggles, where it has a combat use to remove certain debuffs and a toolbelt use to see far away.
