I like my engineer a lot, the only problem I have is that I don’t see a use in getting a legendary, or even a cool looking weapon on him because the kits are what I tend to utilize most and there’s currently no way to change the kits’ looks.

suggestion: Depending on the type of weapon equipped, the kit graphic will change.

example:
1-29 standard item graphics – current kit graphics
30-60 standard item graphics – higher tech, cleaner, shinier versions, with added details like more tools on the backpack of the toolkit, or making the grenade backpack look like it’s made of fine leather.
61-80 new graphics showing significantly higher-tech, shinier, and more detailed kit graphics.

for specially crafted graphics like the godskull weapons, beaded weapons and legendaries, there would be unique graphics that would better reflect the weapon(s) e0quipped underneath.

dual wielding would result in whichever graphic is in the main hand affecting the weapon portion, and whichever graphic is in the offhand affecting the backpack. This provides more chance to customize.

guild weapons would result in guild backpacks and one special guild kit graphic for each kit type.

This would go a long way to make engineers feel more in-line with the options available to classes when it comes to the look.

As a toolkit user, I’m often left wishing that I could change the look of my spanner

I kinda like this idea, if only because every race having a dinky looking gun turret is a bit of a put off, but I’m sure the devs have other priorities.

..if not, I’m all for anything that allows a graphic change.

This idea has been asked a couple of times before, but mainly is the engineer forums, but I for one am very much in agreement, but I’d go one further and also in saying there should be racial kits because all the kit’s backpacks so far were made for the Charr and clip with every other race, mainly the bloody grenade kit and bomb kit…. and toolbox kit…. and the medkit…

I do agree that engis should have some kind of variety placed into kits, having the same kit for bombs and tools is not awesome… although i dont really like the “guild weapons would result in guild backpacks and one special guild kit graphic for each kit type.” since i use the guild backpack, what I would change to this guild pack would be option to change the color.

Love it. It must be implemented ASAP. I hate equipping kits as my engineer – he doesn’t feel like my character when I equip kits because they all look the same. I wish there was some variety to them.

just another voice added to those above… this would make playing engi a lot more fun

make kits more varied, be it level, race or a combination of those (or any other way that makes sense)

I really like the idea of some variety considering the backpack looks. The kits were fun at the start (i remeber the first few hours with the engi – unlocking new kits, seeing how amazing they are), but after a while they feelt like old, boring bags, even if you are lvl 80, they stay the same. What engineer wouldn’t improve his beloved set of tools?

Rather than implementing a complicated level or weapon system to determine the graphic of the backpacks, wouldnt it make more sense to just have your Back Accessory slot determine it?

Also, just putting this out there… but there is a distinct lack of Engineer looking shields in the game.

I like this idea better, although idk how a lot of the back slot items would determine the look of the kits, not all of us engis use actual backpack back slots :-P I get your meaning though and I second it. Also I agree on the engi shields. Need more engi-based skins. Also need some exotic versions of the charr legion shields, they look pretty sick on my charr engi and I’d like one with some nice effects and my legion’s emblem.
