Equip and Swap to Any Usable Weapon
So what you’re saying is that you would like to reduce the number of builds there are and eliminate even the semblance of uniquness for members of the same class?

I like the idea… I would hope there isn’t a 30 second weapon switch cooldown… that’s 3x what it is now
There are still utility slots for builds if you have to have them, and you can still be ‘unique’ by your choice of stat bonuses, sigils, armor, when you choose to use what weapons, etc…
This doesn’t take anything away from the game, it simple adds game play options and prevents players from sitting there spamming the same 3 or 4 abilities over and over.
It takes a significant amount from the game, actually. Which is almost certainly the reason that’s not how the game works.

Weapon swap should have been in the game before release and it should be for ALL your professions available weapons.
To not break any balance that ANet has in place, limit it to being in/out of combat as to being able/unable to swap weapons. Keep the ele and engineer limited to one weapon in combat, everyone else gets their 2.
But when a profession is out of combat they can switch to any weapon they want instead of manually opening inventory double clicking (twice if its equiping 2 single handed weapons)
In GW1 you had weapon sets, click a button and that set would come up. In GW2 we went backwards.
The Warrior turns to the guardian and says, “Did you hear something?”
Guardian replies, “No, but how’d the elementalist die?”
