I tend to play a largely support role in large group combat. I have a lot of non-damaging skills and in many group fights I don’t do enough damage to mobs to get loot or xp since I spend a majority of my time keeping and bringing people up. I would like to see some sort of system to allow people with my play style to get a share of the loot equivalent to that of people simply spamming AOE’s the entire fight.

Rez’ing a person will give you contribution.

I play support roles as well, and don’t have any problem getting loot or Gold contribution. At first I was just waiting for a reason for me to do something, and I was getting bronze or silver contribution. Then I decided to take a more active role while waiting to use my support abilities, by attacking something that someone else was attacking, and I got better loot and Gold Contribution.

If you are doing what I used to do, then quit it. Always be active, do not wait for a reason to use your support abilities, attack something if needs be.

I have noticed this as well, with my elementalist sometimes I switch into support mode especially on a difficult boss, and it does seem that when you are in that role the rewards are less, when I am playing as a glass cannon and nuking everything I get tons of drops but trying to heal in water attunement i get maybe 1 or 2 mobs to drop something…seems to me that it would be a bit difficult to know how much you contributed to the event, but not completely impossible

If you make a group the groups damage counts towards your contribution, it helps a little.

I just wish the events that are massively zerged would replace the mobs with copper or silver (or maybe gold) level creatures, when I do 4 events in orr and get zero drops, just barely getting 1 hit on any mobs it’s silly.

(and please a little more speed on staff projectiles? :p)
