This gets annoying very fast. I usually only send a message here or their to show where a event is up or a champ. The limit amount needs to lessened, or have a time frame added to it. like 5-8 messages withing a 4-8 second window to be considered “excessive Messaging”

I’ve gotten blocked for excessive messaging, when I hadn’t said anything in any chat for hours. It seems very arbitrary.

Yes, it happen to me calling out events. I don’t know if I could get out 5-8 messages in 4-8 seconds or anyone. When calling out events most of the time you would be there a few minutes before going on. and calling out another one. I think it was about a 15 minute span that I called out events in. So it seems as if the window is a little to high, I agree.

Yeah, it happened to me several times, usually after Ctrl-clicking a map point without adding any other texts 2 or more times, when I’m pinging events.
It happens less if I use shift-click instead and add some extra text. Even if it’s just a single period “.” .

For now, until they fix that, you can just go back to the character selection screen and pick the character again. You will be able to write in chat again.

I understand in a guild of over 400 with lots of officers and core members when we try to plan a guild officer or core meeting I have to send email in forum ( which ppl dont read half the time) and send in game mail. I send 2 wait send 2 wait omg someone shoot me lol

Just had this happen to me.. I typed about the dailies changing, mentioned an event in map chat, and pinged the waypoint over a period of 3 minutes, and BLAM… blocked

10 minutes later and I still can’t type in map chat.
