Generally I feel PvE mobs are to “well” programmed sometimes.
It’s not just that they can’t fall (and therefore can’t take falling damage, which also would be a viable tacticin PvE), they also have these arbitrary reset points where they get completely immune to everything and run away from you, even when you continue to damage them.
It happened to me a lot of times when fighting some boss monster solo that through dodging and evading all over the place the mob just resettet at 2% HP and I had to do it from the beginning and make sure I don’t pull it too far from home.
I agree — it’s annoying to use a knockback on an enemy standing by a cliff edge only to have them hit an invisible wall. There would also be a tradeoff for taking the “easy way out” by sending some enemy falling to their death: you may have to make your way down to the body if you want to loot it.
Evade the knockback move
I just fell off a cliff when I tried to dodge the overseer in pig iron mine (Fireheart Rise). He’s on top of a cliff.
It would be fun if we could do the same to enemies. But we can’t. This is an annoyance.
