Hello.
Problem: A lot of people are focused on WvWvW and thus are equipped and skilled(traits) accordingly. This results in a HUGE issue concerning PvE mechanics, because those people actually use their WvW gear and traits for PvE dungeons/fractals, resulting in a very bad performance of those people.
I see no reason to equip Toughness and/or Vitality on mass for PvE. You can dodge about 95% of ALL the attacks. Thus equipping damage stats is way better.
But WvW people don’t want to spend money every time they want to do PvE or occupy inventory slots with a second gear.
Possible Solution: Why not create a second equipment set, similiar to the one from PvP (for the traits).
For the equipment there should be a second set (like with the weapons), one for PvE AND WvW and one for WvW only.
Explanation of the 2 sets: If there is only a PvE set equipped, it is the actually equipment in WvW too. If there is a WvW equipment active, or at least 1 item, it will “replace” the PvE item.
Here a short example:
PvE(1.set) WvW(2.set) Result in WvW
Helmet PvE Helmet
Shoulders Shoulders WvW Shoulders
Torso PvE Torso
Gloves PvE Gloves
Greaves PvE Greaves
Boots PvE Boots
As you can see, if entering WvW it automatically combines both equipment sets. You CAN STILL wear your WvW(2.set) in PvE if you change them manually in your inventory.
I think this would be a MAJOR benefit for both WvW and PvE players, without interfering with the intended game mechanics.
