We know the tech exists to direct specific loot to specific bags – if your Craftsman’s bags have room, crafting loot goes there, until they’re full and it ends up in your starter backpack or whichever next one has free room.

Unfortunately, this also means any Invisible Bags and Lockboxes you might have.

Thus my suggestion: When loot is, er, looted, it only ever goes into your Invisible Bags/Lockboxes is there is no other room anywhere else in your bags.

Just put it last in your list of bags.

Yeah, I have my invisible bag at the bottom of the pile, so I can keep spare armour sets and weapons there. It makes sense because I don’t want to access that bag all the time, so why would I plonk it in the middle?

There are other specialty bags as well. I do, in this order;

Basic 20 slot backpack
normal bag
Junk bag
Crafting bag
Invisible bag

This keeps my stuff organized and let’s me jump right to whatever I’m looking for. Weap/Armor drops are in the top 2 bags, everything else except quest/heart items is sorted.

Yeah, arranging your bags in order neatly solves the ops problem. Kudos to Arenanet on the inventory system: It’s easily the best in any game and should be widely copied.

Arranging bags in that order solves that problem, but it causes the problem that i have to dig through three or more bags’ worth of junk to get to the bag with the stuff I want.

Thus, not an option.

I use the invisible bag at the top, because that’s where I put alternate weapons that I change all the time.

Invisible bags should be filled after other slots.

They are invisible.
