After doing a lot of searches in the trading post and also previewing armor from several vendors (especially high-end karma and dungeon vendors), I really feel that a filter to only show light, medium or heavy armor would be incredible useful.

For the trading post, you can work around this but doing several more specific searches (like “ravaging noble” instead of just “ravaging”). This can still be annoying since you sometimes you might want to check various types of armor. With the dungeon vendors, the list so long that it really needs some way to help trim down what you are looking at sometimes.

Yes please. I miss this function from WOW. It’s extremely annoying not being able to filter out armor your class can’t use.

Might not be true, it depends on how the search function is programmed and how it handles filters.

The trading post has a fixed list of items that can be listed there, so I’d expect any search to happen on the client. Then the client sends a list of results to the server to get their prices. Which means the more results you get, the more queries that need to be run on the trading posts database.

Even if that isn’t true, it’s no excuse. There are no items that are simultaneously two armor weights. So building the trading post database to ignore armor weight in searches is just a horrible usability issue.

I submit another reply to have the choice to filter out armor not for your class to cut down on time wasted looking at things you cannot use.

Im also annoyed by the lack of this filter

I completely agree; the dropdown icon is there and every item already has armour class listed, from a programming standpoint it should not be difficult.

I miss this filter too. It’s not even hard to develop, just put another dropdown and on query add “AND armor_type = ‘@ARMORTYPE’”.

You got my vote on this. I was going to suggest it but it already done. Would like to see this for weapon too but filter on profession.
