Can we pretty please have our first person camera back. We had it in Beta and I have been looking forward to it’s return since launch. It’s very very very difficult to make fan made videos with my backside hogging up the entire camera. I really would like to be able to make some wonderful fan made movies in the Guild Wars 2 engine but need that first person camera so that I can film them. Can’t do it without.
I definitely second this, jumping puzzles suck in 3rd person view
I completely agree, though I somewhat wonder if jumping puzzles are the exact reason we don’t have a first-person camera in GW2 (a feature, by the way, in just about every AAA MMO). Some of them are pretty dang easy once you know where you have to jump and don’t have to look through your own back for the landing spots.
I like first-person because I am a GW2 “photographer”. Lord knows there are plenty of screen-cap worthy sights in the world of Tyria (hence the Vistas). But I do not always want my toon standing in the foreground. Admittedly, I am pretty good at “posing” them with emotes, but the game has very FEW emotes, and I don’t want the same old picture of my toons again and again in the same poses in front of different backgrounds.
So first-person YES. With a side dish of “more emotes, please”.

Yeah as a photographer myself the biggest feature I miss in this game is first person mode. My video work and screenshots would be drastically better and I could help further promote the beautiful artstyle of this game. I don’t know why they took it out but all I want for Christmas is first person camera
BTW what beta did you play? I don’t remember it being available for the BWE’s. In fact I remember not being able to and hating it, because I wanted screen caps for my friends to show the game off.
I take a lot of panoramic screenshots, and those stupid owl potions aint cheap to randomly stumble upon.
