Guild Wars 2

We love the idea of the swimming and fighting in the water. And using alot of the loot for crafting. We would love to be able to do some fishing in game also that would be so awsome to be able to fish for resources. Fishing tourneys and such would be great in game events also.

Even though it may not be to everyone’s “cup of tea”, and even though I probably wouldn’t participate, I see no reason why it couldn’t be in the game.

Fishing = An activity that doesn’t involve attacking or being attacked, This game needs more activities like this.

If this were to be added, I am hoping for something a little more than the standard -throw line and wait for the float rig to move-.

GW2 needs more relaxing things. Grinding mats is incredibly boring because not only are you doing nothing interesting, but you still have to pay attention to the game. Fishing would be a great addition.

Agreed, rather than just the standard ‘point and fish’ style of fishing like in most games, it could be made into something different, more realistic. No grind for mats, just the enjoyment of fishing. This could of course lead to some interesting events also such as tournaments.

I would like to have some sort of “pokemon style” fishing where you actually have to fight with your fish in order to capture it.
Or at least something a little more challenging than to cast your line and wait for something to bite….bare hands fishing? spear fishing?

I completely agree I would love to see fishing in the game. and tourneys are a great idea. sign up and compete but how would the fishing work, if it was completely random than no skill would be needed and the tourneys would be a joke.

there would be some way to add skills into the mix, actual player skills not in game skills. this would be tough.

Here’s an idea: everyone gets a rod, but you have to buy bait. Bait would be fickle: put too little, and no fish will bite. Put too much, and you get pulled into the water by a nasty veteran fish! You could also implement skills like setting the hook and mastering when and when not to reel into fishing. Baits might even come in different types, each attracting different fish.

i would love to see a skill bar with like maybe four skills, #1 would be something like casting the lure into the water

+1 to this, I’d love to see more non-combat ways to earn money. As it stands right now you can’t really earn money unless you really know the meta-game. Casual players can’t really earn money at a good rate once you start getting into the higher levels.
