The way the combat in this game works basically requires you to dodge and move around in a far amount of space. It would be nice if the mobs didnt reset after moving so far from their starting point. Its extremely frustrating to have a mob down to a corner of health and they reset to full health, run back to their starting spot but then imediately re-aggro you and attack you again while your health didnt reset like theirs.

Its also extremely annoying on how the aggro works in this game. Is there even an aggro rule set? Mobs seem to randomly aggro different people, the system allows other to train mobs on you when they run buy and its also exploitable by training mobs onto other mobs.

Could someone actually post a working model of how aggro works in this game?

The agro is pretty messed up. Anet has said distance is a big factor but I’m not convinced. I’ve had mobs agro to me when I’m ranged and ignore me when I’m melee…and in the ranged instances I’m usually doing less damage then the melee instances.

I thought i heard them say one time that for some enemies, the farther away you are, the more aggro you’ll draw.

Also it makes sense in a way. The farther away you are, the less damage you’re taking and the more damage your enemy is taking. So if they close the gap, they’re able to deal more damage to you and get away from the people who are attacking them in melee.
