Fix targeting
So you want the game to read your mind to see what target you want?
Clones do exactly what they are supposed to do cause confusion, if the player is huddled in a crowed they are doing an effective measure to keep from being targeted and killed, that is smart. Your suggestions are a bit outlandish if you ask me.
If you read the post then you would know I didn’t say reading my mind and I DID say that I new what target I wanted to pick. No duh clones confuse people. There are many times where it doesn’t and I know the exact target I want yet I have to click tab 5 times to get to it or more.
AS I SAID BEFORE. Let it prioritize what is directly in front of you.
The picture should explain what I mean by in front of you. So that if I know exactly where someone is I can just look at them…press TAB…and BAM I targeted the person I wanted because I CAN see them.

I click on them, problem solved
then this post is not for you.
I’ll +1 this, because yes, tab targetting, and auto targetting, has some rediculous issues right now. It could use some attention.

It’s not that easy. It does, at times, take ten plus clicks (not lying). Once, it was so bad I had to have a party member target them so I could just hit T to assist and it was a boss fight. MY auto target was off (good ridance).
Auto target, selects the wrong target all the time, or deselects a target at a crucial moment.
Click targeting, often refuses to select targets that you are directly clicking on. Especially large objects, such as gates, or bosses.

Yeah the clicking target isn’t that reliable, and doesn’t always work, but I will say it is more reliable than tab targeting.
LOL sorry kaimick I have seem to supported you on a lot of your post but not this one, clicking to target is not the overall best answer.
Auto-targeting is hopeless. It usually favours scenery or the mob sitting minding its own business half a mile away over the one beating on your head.
Mouse clicking isn’t that great either, it’s hard to click on the mob you want and get it to stick while you’re also turning and trying to avoid accidentally right clicking on random things.
TAB targeting seems to be tied into auto-targeting in the way it randomly selects whatever it feels like.
The interface in GW2 is more of a challenge than most of the mobs.

Well said best suggestion, as far as i’m concerned GW2 has the worst targeting i’ve ever seen in a mmo, and i’ve played a lot..
Like the others have said, clicking on a target usually does not work for me… And my tab targeting has some pretty crazy priorities. I’ll +1 this.
I agree that the targeting system needs some attention, although perhaps not exactly what the OP suggests. When casting spells and such, I often end up auto targeting an ally rather than the enemy I already have targeted. This ends up making me waste my spells. Also there are issues with targeting meta-event bosses when there are lots of people participating in the event.
Also, the “target closest enemy” function doesn’t work for me a lot of the time. It either targets nothing, or a farther enemy.

yea i’m having a ton of issues with targeting, especially when my game stops targetting something, for no reason. I wont touch anything at all and suddenly my target is gone and my character stops moving or doing anything, really annoying.
