Don’t even bother to yell at me or whatever, I just want to throw a quick note here for the dev’s. No idea if they will even notice, whatever… but I probably won’t even check this, so anyone trolling me will be talking to an empty room.

Yes, I play WoW. I haven’t been back to GW2 since MoP launched.

Well, there is a 10 hour downtime on WoW and D3, so I thought I would log back into GW2. As usual, it is beautiful compared to WoW, the graphics are amazing.

However… my feet are stuck to the ground. It is very disconcerting. I know there is fast travel and all that, but I still want to fly over this beautiful landscape and explore it at leisure. Not having a flying mount in the main world really detracts from me wanting to play.

I know there are the awesome jumping puzzles that would be foiled by flying mounts, and probably a lot of other things as well, but really, I think those things should be worked around so I can fly over this wonderful landscape, dipping and diving to my hearts content as I explore every nook and cranny of GW2.

Anyways… I don’t know, I just wanted to say, that without flying mounts, the game just seems to static, and two dimensional. After flying over Azeroth for hours, this just feels… slow, and I really want it to be funner. Cause I like the game, I really do, but I hate having my feet stuck to the ground.

I just want to fly.

That environment you “fly over at your leisure” will seem very small and insignificant. The maps aren’t designed for that kind of travel, and I bet you would actually get pretty bored of the sky scenery after you gloss over all the scenery instead of taking it in on foot.

Flying would make the detailed scenery further away, therefore appear less detailed, and you would b-line to your destination – instead of navigating windy roads etc.

Flying mounts would mean you enjoy less of the environment at less detail.

This is not a troll, this is just why flying mounts couldnt work in the current gw2 maps. If anet made an expansion in very high cliffs etc. and the maps were big enough, then flying mounts might work there.

There hasnt been a definitive statement by the devs about why not so keep asking you might get it. Grind was added. VP added so why not mounts?
