please PLEASE ! PLEEEASE! make some kinda dungeon/group finder for gw2, its insane to think all new and mostly rubbish mmos have better lfg tools, neverwhinter for starters.

I also dislike the website as it should be ingame.

I’ve got news for you… they’re working on it. Colin Johanson actually mentioned the other night in an interview that they are working on it and they’ve recently done a playtest.

Worry about fixing core game mechanics instead of a looking for group if you really want to help the game. Stealth still broken to the point all you have to do is spam it to heal/remove conditions/move faster than swiftness/etc, and can still spam it endless no problem. Not to mention since the super buff to blind it is even worse to fight thieves. No skill needed to spam stealth to win. Fix the horrible stealth in game then worry about extras.

there being no real viable means to get a group for anyting ingame is a core game issue.

MMO are a social game, the lack of this key feature is a killer.

They have said tons and tons of times that they are working on it and it will be released before the end of the year so please stop with these threads it is getting ridiculous.

I can’t wait for the funky transition period where some people will be using the in game tool and some people will be using the website and some people will be posting on both. Who knows what exciting new things you guys will get to complain about?

But finding a group takes a small amount of effort! They need to release it now, don’t bother with testing and all that! That way it will break the game and instead of doing dungeons I can post more complaints on the forums!

I haven t been to a dungeon yet because I do not see why I should have to use a third party to be able to do the dungeons that my herald is sending me to.

Im often in dungeons and i’ve never so much as been on that website. Spamming map chat, scowering guild rosters and contact lists is how i fill my party and i’ll still do all those when it’s released as often people join a dungeon run on the spur of the moment.

To be honest that site is not very snappy at times. Often there are error loading, or long load times that never ends.

This should be at the TOP of their list rather than that silly living story. Put your living story crew in to work on it if you have so you can release this July.

I am honestly a bit amazed that people are defending the lack of a LFG tool in the game.

How in the kitten are people actually against easier/better methods to form parties?

No matter how many times someone complains about this, which is a lot, it never becomes less valid. There is no good reason that people have to go to a third party website to do something that should be available in game instead.

Considering the extreme traffic that gw2lfg gets, it’s all the more reason that this should be in the game itself.

I don’t really mind using the gw2lfg.com but sometime it is really laggy and buggy.

You cannot possibly be happy that it may come at December 31. That’s waiting a maximum possibility of 5-6 months wait from now.

They’ve said on repeated occasions that there is an LFG tool in the works, and even said yesterday that they had beta-tested it and it’ll be out before the end of the year. These complaint threads are redundant. Also, Stealth isn’t broken, it’s nerfed. Check the patch notes.

That one is fairly obvious.
The complaint will be that the in game one doesn’t integrate with the website.

Edit: Unless the release the authenticated API stuff before/at the same time. Then it would be up to the website to integrate with the game.

Instead of complaining, why don’t we talk about what we would like see in an lfg tool? That way the devs can get some constructive feedback and it wont suck when it launches, which will just make people rage even harder.

Did I say I was happy or unhappy about anything? I said they confirmed it will be here before the end of the year. Why even complain about something that is well on its way into the game?

But just in case you were wondering, I could care less about a LFG tool – I wouldn’t use it anyway. Daily guild runs > pugs every time. So really trust me when I say I could really care less about a LFG tool at all.

Not only that, but he said we’d have a detailed post on Thursday (LATER TODAY) about the coming months of the game. So I really don’t understand where all the complaining is coming from…

You guys complain when nothing is announced.. Then when it’s announced, you want it NOW. Here’s an idea, join a guild that you can run with and you’ll never pug again I assure you.

I quite like the website for one very good reason. Using the site, I can safely avoid all those “ZERKER ONLY GEAR CHECK CARRY ME” groups. I don’t want to be grouped with people without any versatility and lack skill outside (and sometimes even inside) the script they operate.

For the rest I’ll let the tool surprise me. So far I haven’t had the need for one and the site does give inspiration to do some more uncommon runs. The tool wouldn’t make you go “Oh, that sounds fun and there is at least one other person who wants to do it” and you’d rather queue for a safe option which will definitely find a group.

Also, I met some great people when pugging. I can assure you, guild runs aren’t always better. Enjoying epic fails from pugs and teaching/learning from them can be fun and definitely improve you as a player. It’s kinda like your health. You can be in a sterile bubble or you can have fun and bolster your immune system.
