I’m sure this has been stated before countless times, but I’d really like to bring the discussion up once again because I feel like it’s a big oversight that might hurt the game in the long run.

Guild Wars 2 needs to work on it’s outside community support. Badly. Why a lot of MMO’s do not have server forums baffles me. Server forums create a sense of community outside the game and open up a more personal touch when it comes to guild recruitment or just a server community in general. Yeah some fansites have server forums but that’s nothing compared to the official forums. I hate to throw in the game that should not be named, but part of WoW’s big success was outside community support that started with the forums.

In general forums need to be beefed up a bit. On a customer service aspect the forums are doing what they need to do. You have tech support, class forums, race forums, lore forums, etc. however none of this really helps enhance the sense of community like forums should.

Talking to people that are on your same server enhances that experience because then an individual can experience that more small town familiarity. We end up knowing each other a little more.

Yes you can obtain this experience through guilds but that is still on such a small scale. How do you stir up that competitive guild drama between two top guilds on a server without an official outlet?

I understand that the main focus is bettering the game so that it continues to expand, however the game needs that outside support as well.

Sorry about the long post but it hurts me to see this mistake in yet another MMO that I love.
