Fotm lottery
That’s sort of the point of Fractal weapons; they’re a status symbol for people who obviously run Fractals a LOT.
No statistical advantage, they’re a pure skin, so I don’t see the problem with the current system. If you really want that skin… keep running.
The problem is that you may never get one, no matter one, having such RNG is dumb. At least, make fractal weps sellable or something, legendary weps can be sold/traded i see no reason why fractal ones couldnt, with this you could actually make use of the items you get that you cant use, and shorten the RNG a bit.
Just because you have a fractal weapon doesn’t mean you have run FOTM a lot, just means you were lucky, thats it.
If you want to make fractal weps fotm users exclusive, just add a level requierement for them and DONE!.

actually it does mean you ran it a lot, you have gotten to at least level 20? and most likely have run level 20 at least 10 times (according to what you said about it being 1/10)
Now they could come up with some trade system where say you trade 1 fractal weapon and say 10pristine fragments or something for a weapon of your choice. but eh, as long as the drop rate isnt that crazy

1 in 10? I’ve gotten my hammer on my 2nd 20+, then not anything else in something like 40x 20+’s

Can we do something about this already? I have been trying to find a fractal dagger for a few months already, i have got a shield, a staff, and a greatsword, yet no dagger, lots and i mean LOTS of rings, and pristine relics, all of them useless, can we make an use to these, a trade system, a salvage system, something?! Any future plans on doing something? You get a fractal weapon 1 out of 10 runs, and after that you have 1 out of over 10 weps to pick from, its just, impossible.
You just explained how I feel. I’ve been after the Dagger for my Thief, only got scepter and longbow so far as well as useless rings and relics. Would be nice if you could salvage the rings and/or actually have something useful to buy with the relics…. How about the amulet?? -.-

Working as intended huh, sounds like a fun game…glad they are all epically ugly to me..looks like someone made them with play-doe..
Why can’t you SELL them baffles me.

You can still make it rare and hard with a fixed goal like relics and/or trade with other weapons. Its not rare and hard for the lucky who got it on the first try. Its pretty unfair some people have to work a lot to get something while others get it easily! I felt so much sorry for the two warriors and mesmer in my group when i told them i got a fractal greatsword and i couldnt use it.

I think they should do something about the FOTM skins, I’ve been doing fractal daily everyday 20 and 30 for the last 2 weeks without getting a single skin. They should enable players with lv 30+ fractal access to be able to purchase the skin with pristine relic from the vendor. Option 2 is allow the player to trade in the fractal skins they got that they don’t want to trade in for something they want.
I think they didn’t make them tradeable/purchasable was because they know some players want the weapons and with the current setup its near impossible to get the 1 you want so you have to either run it a lot or get very lucky.
I’ve got 11 weapons now and around 100 pristine. So I’m guessing the chance to get a weapon is around 10%. I also have 47 rings so I’m guessing it’s around 40-50% chance to get a ring. ya I know my sample size is small and I’m not sure if the drop rate increases with the fractal level I’m only up to 49 but I feel it doesn’t differ

100+ pristine and only 4 skins….
I d just like to pay even 50 pristine to change skins with one i could use…..
But i’d say i ve been very lucky btw considered i can use 3 out of 4 i drop.
A PvE player is supposed to avoid a 1-2 second 1 shotting aoe.
A WWW player is considered uncapable of avoiding a 5,75 second aoe for half his health.

Also assuming drop chance of a wep is 10% and every wep has the same chance, and 12 weps (including under water ones), chances to get the item you want would be 0.08%?? (0.1*(1/12)). Means in average you need to do 120 runs.

we should be able to sell ring, or at least salvage, MF or w/e
salage rings, and trade the weapon + relics for the weapon we want.
i spent ages trying to get the sword and just got a bow :-(
also i can secound the 1/10 drop chance what i got.

We need a mystic forge recipe to create it with relics other weapons maybe shards and another exotic i duno something, but this rng is terrible. Run 120 times the same 4 dungeons to get something (and maybe not) makes no sense.

I think there are 19 weapons
I want a GS and a Hammer skin, and Ive gotten Sword, Spear, Trident, 2x Axe, shortbow, shield, and rifle..
I Agree with op, this needs to be less RNG, more effort based.
This is coming from someone with over 800 fractals done.
Well if there are 19 weps you need to do even more.
