This may already have been asked in the forums previously, but I have huge issues “searching” and no results appearing in this forum.

I would be interested in seeing some of the key / more interesting GW1 missions from Prophecies and EoTN recreated and able to be played through the Fractals (or another system).

The Fractals is all about revisiting small slices of past events, so if you took some of the important GW1 missions from the above mentioned campaigns, ones which still have some bearing on the shape of Tyria today, this could help players new to the world of Tyria see what has happened in the past, and also give a fresh, updated nostalgia for the old players.

If ANet paired these play through’s with cinematics which gave a little bit of history of what happened before the missions then it could be a way for them to get some old lore pumping through the veins of GW2 and help join new and old together.

I’d personally love to see them implement stuff about Cantha and Elona to close up the gaps (especially in the case of Elona, since it didn’t get a “Beyond” update) in recorded history between GW1 and 2.

One example of a GW1 mission that could be brought over to build a bridge between GW1 / 2 lore would be when Prince Rurik dies at the Frost Gate and his sword is lost. As we all now know Rytlock owns Sohothin and it hasn’t really be explained how he got a hold of it.

I assume that one day ANet will give hints and maybe a final detail as to how that occurred, but using the Fractals system they could give us an answer in a nicely presented way.

We should be able to see a cinematic giving a bit of history before the mission (so new players understand what has been happening), we can then jump into the mission with Rurik (as in the old game with updated textures, graphics, enemy attacks etc) and after the mission when Rurik is killed we could have another stylised cinematic which shows progression of the future and how the sword was rediscovered.

Maybe after that cinematic there could be another mission where you play the final chapter of Rytlock actually getting the sword.

It could be done in the standard Fractal 3 dungeons system.
1st dungeon: play the GW1 mission
2nd dungeon: something inbetween (maybe finding information about where the sword is.
3rd dungeon: play as rytlock to get the sword

This could be done on multiple different missions / lore related aspects.

As MesmeForever said introducing some answers as to what happened to Elona & Cantha would also be interesting.
