i would like to make a suggestion to the latest news about “Fractals of the Mists Dungeon Improvements” which is to be implement at end of jan. (Pardon my poor english.)

It about the party-level restrictions thingy. Lets say i am looking for member to play for fotm 30, i would expect all the players to know about the different fractals and the usual strategy everyone is using. If a player starting out at lv1 and join us for lv30 with 0 AR and know nothing about the fractals at all and keep dying because of no AR, it would frustrate the entire party. Therefore the latest patch which is going to be implement would a lot of unhappiness especially for high level fotm player.

Here is my suggestion. If a player just started fotm level 1, he can only play from lv1-lv10. When he clear lv10, then he can start playing on max lv20 and so on.

For Example:

Player 1 (fractal level 1)
Player 2 (fractal level 21)
Player 3 (fractal level 21)
Player 4 (fractal level 21)
Player 5 (fractal level 53)

The maximum level the party can choose is lv10, since player 1 is lv1.

Player 1 (fractal level 11)
Player 2 (fractal level 21)
Player 3 (fractal level 21)
Player 4 (fractal level 21)
Player 5 (fractal level 53)

Once player 1 complete lv10 and rise one level to 11, the party can go to max level 20 fotm. If player1 would to complete lv20 and rise one level to 21, then they can all go for max lv30 fotm.

I would like anet to take my suggestion into consideration and modify the fotm patch to be release on end of jan. Thank You.

Don’t like it, it people who want to play with friends and don’t have the same # fractals completed are separated. In general, this just separates people. I’m sure there are those who play fractals everyday and still aren’t good at it. Just bring your friends in next time, so you know you’re playing with good people.

the only reason i see doing this is due to the fractal tears and AR, but seeing how the lv1 doing a lv10 is still getting a lv1 daily, they are not moving up in AR and if they are ok to do lv10 why cant they do 19? 20 with no AR maybe an issue if its not someone you know when pugging.

I don’t know if I would be quite as strict about the tiers, but I agree it would be pretty awful if I started regularly getting people with 0 AR in my fractal 20 daily groups. Unfortunately, that’s precisely what I see happening.

With as many people as I run into who don’t know the mechanics in my 20 daily groups already, this would be a deal breaker. It may open up people to play with friends, but it does mean that no one in their right mind is going to be running PuGs in fractals anymore.

What’s really needed is a mechanism to see what the max progression is for each character in the party, so a group can choose whether to allow a lesser-progressed person in or not. This allows friends to stick together while preventing PuGs from suffering (more than usual, at least).

Having gated content was a horrible horrible idea in the first place, and this change just proves it.

Sure it works out great for those who stayed with the curve, but new people will have an extremely hard time finding groups for the Fractals because they are in lower level fractals.
