Guild Wars 2

Free trials are a great way to get new people playing. I invited 3 friends and one has purchased a full game already. However it’s not the best idea to do it during a special event as all the new people want to do is go to starter areas and learn the game mechanics. I went with them to help and missed a lot of the special event.

It would also be nice if we got some kind of in game reward if a friend converted to a full game, perhaps a mini or something? My friend who purchased the game was swearing blind he would never play GW2, he said it didn’t sound that good and not his sort of game…he was online for a couple of hours and changed his mind, so it definitley works to get new people into the game. So why not an in game reward please?

I like the idea, but a better reward would be just a bunch of gems.

Well, I think all of made people we know and friends of ours buy this game and this idea is reasonable and very practical for the publicity of the game.

I agree, I know a few people who would like to try the game before they drop $60. I was going to have them play this weekend, but they had to work so that didn’t work for them.

My two cents.

1. Agree, don’t do it during a one time event. I even felt a little embarrassed about giving out some of my keys. The buggy events were bad.

2. Make it a little longer then three days, more like a week OR the 3 days starts from the time they create their first character. One of my friends had trouble getting the download to work. I ended up sending them my Gw2.exe and that worked but by the time they got the download done the trial was over. GREAT, lots of wasted time there. The other friend just didn’t have a lot of weekend time but has more time during the week. Another wasted one sadly.
