First of all, I would say I enjoyed most of the contents of the game before lv80. The leveling progress and all the explorable maps make this game great.
But after reaching lv80, things become different after a week or so. There are so limited maps that we can go “efficiently” for a lv80 character, namely Orr or Norm. So actually PvE contents become dull, and exploration turned into a collection only progress. I felt like an undead after beating so much nothing-but-undead creatures, only due to nothing else to fight with.
I would like to be able to travel through maps, fighting different things, meeting different characters, helping the others, exploring more of Tyria even after achieved lv80, but at the cost of little or even none diminished income on my character.
Otherwise I would be forced to start a new character, but I believe some of us would like to stay with the current one.
Currently, going to a lower level map is inefficient due to the following reasons:
1. I won’t be getting T6 blue crafting ingredients as they only seemed to drop by lv80 monsters.
2. There ain’t any Orichalcum ore or ancient woods available unless from salvaging.
3. The higher level item dropping rate is still highly inferior compared to high level maps, decreasing the chance to salvage glob of ectoplasm.
4. Map completion rewards are based on the map, so I’m lacked of interest on finishing a lower level maps unless for achievement sake.
Set aside from the experiences gained, the karma and gold earned from a DE in lower level maps are fine, and the chest dropped by larger bosses is fine too, in comparison.
As a conclusion from above, I would suggest the following changes be made:
1. Let T6 materials be available to lv80 characters in lower level maps, including orbs. There’s actually a facile way of doing this: creating a new item something like T6 material bags, dropped by monsters in lower leveled maps to lv80 characters only. However the dropping rate would still needed to be balanced so that staying in all maps would be fair. Of course there are other ways of achieving such goal(such as random T6 materials from salvageable items and mining, wood chopping, harvesting lower tier ingredients) , but I think this one is the easiest approach.
2. Increase the chance of higher level item dropping rate in lower level maps. I know fighting monsters in lower level maps are easier, but still the chances now are much lower than expected.
3. Add or adjust some bonus rewards on map completion based on character’s level.
4. Adjust the experiences gained from dynamic events and heart contents.
I hope someone from the official can see this post and act on it, this is some serious end game content adjustment that should be made ASAP.

Funny enough, overall I find Frostgorge a much more enjoyable zone than Orr. I don’t know what it is about Orr, but something just feels… off.
I don’t know if it’s because you see the same landscape and the same enemies repeated into tedium, but the zone feels like it could do with some variety. It’s like three maps that are exactly the same, while Frostgorge, for instance, there are those magnificent sanctuaries, you also have Yak’s bend with it’s bit of greenery, those dredge mines, and the Drakkar corruption to the north west. Not to mention there’s the Claw of Jormag battle, easily the most fun and exciting battle I’ve encountered in the game.
Except for the temple runs, Orr feels so… ugh.
I’d like to see a bit more incentive added to Orr as the level 80 endgame zone. Yes, the temples are fun, but other than that you just have a large number of undead standing around, which is the ‘threatening’ part of Orr, you might get packed by mobs. Maybe some large scale battles, NPCs, siege weapons, crazy bombings, against large groups or big enemies, like the dragon champions.
Maybe the zone can have strange changes happening, such as types of corruption that spreads, and twist things out of proportion, for instance a type of red corruption that drive things mad, causing constant attacks until you clear it, or blue where strange mages feed energies into conduits that charge up big undead monstrosities. I don’t know, something, anything.
As for your idea Forever. I couldn’t agree more. Low level zones have so little incentives for level 80 characters, especially due to insane waypoint costs, I don’t feel like going back there for any reason, be it zone completion, or even check out what I missed before hand.
