Guild Wars 2 is great game and I think it has been improving a lot over this year, but I do think there is a big issue with the current living world updates and achievements.

Currently, every 2-4 weeks we get a new set of living world story and achievements and if you take a break from the game during that time, you may end up missing the full story and the achievement rewards, and achievements points in general that lead to rewards. I think this is it a bit unfair, as you can miss out on a lot of rewards if you take a break for a few weeks. Realistically, most people aren’t going to miss most of the updates, but there could be times when it happens.

I think there should be system in place that allows you to play old content. A system similar the caverns of time (Dungeon that let’s you play instanced historical events) in that other MMO (WoW), would be a good way to allow players to play old content. Or there could be a Living Story tab on the Hero Panel that shows every Living Story update and you can simply pick one that would send you to an instanced version of that event. I don’t think it shouldn’t matter to much that people are playing something from a previous update, seeing that people are sill fighting Zhaitan.

Or ArenaNet could just simply stop creating temporary content for every Living World update.

Also in general I don’t think ArenaNet should really being adding some much new content to the game, when a lot of the current content is broken or just not that fun. Why not have a team that works on updating the current world, and another to work on new features and updates.

Just to name a some things that could use some work:

Dungeons – dungeons need to be fixed to remove exploits, bugs, and being able to just run through everything to get ahead in the dungeon needs to be removed. But, I general I think dungeons need to be more rewarding for players who already have all the dungeon tokens they need. (Maybe add a way to convert tokens to another currency)

World Bosses / Big Events – they are starting to update these with the Tequatl the Sunless update and I hope they do this with the other world bosses as well. They should be more challenging, but have increased rewards as well.

More Open World Content – just adding more events and other content to the current zones would be a big improvement, and maybe adding a good reward system to get higher level players to go back to other zones would make the world seem more alive. (Example: Weekly Achievement – go do X number events in all regions of Tyria, Kill X number of things in all regions of Tyria, Gather X number of things in all regions of Tyria)

Zones – some zones like Orr need a huge update as they are just not worth the time to play in, and almost always empty. Remove contested waypoints, or allow you to spawn somewhere close to a contest waypoint.

I like the idea of the Historical Events tab.

I like even more the idea of Anet stopping with the constant new content updates and instead focus for a couple months on fixing the bugs and problems with the game.

ArenaNet just needs to fix some of the current issues of the game, instead of adding only new content updates.

Why are the first dungeons harder than some of the later ones is my question. New players going in to AC explore will probably think dungeons are awful until they’re a high enough level to run CoF, for example.

SE Exp P2 – Mostly champions

AC/CM Exp – Riddled with unforgiving legendaries

Do I have problems completing it? No, but I happen to have been playing this game since beta. I would rather see dungeons like CoF getting revamped to a better difficulty and dumbing down the lowbie dungeons.
