Hello,
my name is Lahabiel Sangre, mostly known as Lu, formerly known as Lynx Someonehearth in gw1, also Lu.
And this is going to be long.
I’d like to write here because I’m… Hugely annoyed by what’s been going on with Gem armors. And living story.
In Guild Wars 1, I have most armors, lots of extra character slots, mercenaries with heroes, paid armor skins and most skins from events. And I loved those skins, the armor variety.
When I got into Guild Wars 2 and heard about Heritage armor, I thought, yay! I saw wariror armor in it and thought it’d be awesome to have some good old gw1 armors. Instead I got stripes on medium, looking like… Ehm. And light armor, that while nice, looks really silly when moving on females.
Anyway, my point. When it all went live, and I got in, I found that the GEM Armors, the first set, are Krytan, Primeval and Profane. While I’m fond of GW1 armors, when I look on what you picked, I… Was greatly disappointed.
Primeval armor is nice, was one of my favourites actually. Proper covering of body, TRUE armor. Krytan… I can get around. Even though I prefer a lot more ranger armors like Norn, Monument, Deldrimor. And I feel they fit GW2 coat-universe more, too. For no coats, I’d pick something more like Elite Canthan of Assassin (or brotherhood version of Anton), or hell, even some dervish armor, like ancient or primeval. And light… Don’t even get me started. Oh you did. Alright. For light I’d love to see, billion times more, things like Asuran Necro armor or Elite Sunspear or Primeval Elementalist armor. And if you HAD to go for thing like Profane, why not Ele Obsidian? It looks so much more better. Or If you went with that heavy armor, why not Eve’s? They’re together on your poster, you know.
But no, you HAD to go ahead with this trend. Or, should I say, even worse. Don’t get me wrong, I like SOME of your armors. Like the Primeval. Or Magitech armor. Some poeple like Braham armor, I know. But when I look on your latest addition, and generally, what you are doing with female armor, I keep thinking, are you just a bunch of pervs or are there no designers capable of stuff there?
Because, and I’m not talking about the Flame set (I’ll get to that later) the last gem set you added had really good heavy armor! Good enough to compete with CoE armor and such. Well, FOR MALES ONLY. I’m FED UP with your skirts, fishnets and lingerines on females. Are half of you ex-Lineage-players or do you think a girl is going to win fights by wearing skirts while the males go ahead and take the hits? And I can go on and on and on that…
But let’s not go on with that and go on with something else. Flame armor. Really? When I first went to check dulfy to see what it was about, when I saw it in launcher, I thought it was a joke.
Human, cultural EXCLUSIVE armor, T3, worth 120gold, freaking 120g is a huge achievement for new player. And you slap some fire on it and sell it. And made it availible to all races. So I guess, aside the fact that cultural is still yellow quality, there’s NO, ZERO point in getting it aside achievement.
Next, medium armor. Temple skin. Again, exclusive. Difficult to obtain (do you know how hard it is to obtain it with proper stats you’d like, with champion train you formed not caring a bit about temples) and again, you just slap some fire on it and sell it.
And last, karma lvl 30 armor. I do have to agree that some karma armor is nice looking. But this one? Really? Seriously? Taking the one and only karma armor I skip when leveling and slap fire on it and sell it?
Are the people allowing this happen revolting and rebelling by doing this against something your employers did? Because… I can’t think of other reason why you would do this unless you REALLY don’t want them to sell.
I like the toxic stuff you added, true, you could let us change the glow. Or on Achievement point armor. Or, make it the same glow color as the weapons you released with it in chest. Because… That’d give sense you know. But I still like those.
But I can’t get over what’s going on with the armors you release anymore.
I like to support your game by buying stuff, you know. I like the fresh ideas you put into it. And I put a LOT of money into the game. Yeah I did… But I think I’m stopping now. And it’s not only the armors, you know.
