I was looking my old GW1 videos, and compared them to GW2.. and i’m wondering, why did i enjoy GW1 so much more..

We need changes in GW2.. because this game is to much casual, person like me don’t feel like doing dungeons 5h a day.. i don’t find a lot of things to do in PvE..

Anet, do something for non-casual players please!!!

Strange feeling, i’ve spend 6 years in GW1 and never got bored… I feel like quite GW2 after 4 months.. something stinks here…

Wish I could get back to GW1.. PvP-GvG. It feels like we are outcasted, not desired or rewarded..

Maybe just your opinion (that stinks that is).

GW1 and GW2 are entirely different games, although they are set in the same world. Trying to compare them is like trying to compare Heroes of Might and Magic to Age of Empires. They might be both strategy games but one is turn based and the other is real time, the difference is in the systems and it’s what makes each game unique.

Hell, GW1 wasn’t even considered a true MMO in the traditional sense. It was at best a hybrid due to the fact that the only -multiplayer- part of the game was in various towns/outposts and PvP.

Im the complete oposite i think GW 1 with its 20 levels henchmen system and completely instanced game play was catered to a more casual player

Eh, well that’s debatable. The henchmen system (and then the improved hero system) was good and it certainly did help for general campaign completion but the failings of the AI could be really frustrating and make the game far more difficult than most casual players could stand. The henchmen were sadly a lot worse than heroes, with healer henchmen stopping healing mid-fight just to rez the downed DPS, often while they were getting hit as well.

Not to mention the elite areas and missions did add a degree of difficulty to the game which can’t really be matched anywhere else. Domain of Anguish in particular can rip groups apart in seconds, especially hero teams if they’re not prepared for it.

That’s what i’m saying.. this PvE is not even a challenge to me.. I never liked the instance idea of Dungeons.. ( i was UW speed runner and i liked old instances more then those… and when we are speaking of open world… i tough Anet gonna bring dungeons to the next lvl of MMO… and open gates for infinity people.. not like closed instances)

PvP was more challenging in GW1, every interrupts and skill was spared for right moment .. i don’t feel this system as amazing one, its more like pushing 12345 a lot.. :S

Well over all… Anet should start building something for non-casual players.. to give us some challenge.. i got all my gear in pve that i want.. turned lvl 15 at pvp and feel boring already.. idk.. i already like guild mission idea.. i hope they come up with something for pvp now..

Wish I could get back to GW1.. PvP-GvG. It feels like we are outcasted, not desired or rewarded..

GW1 was also yet another tired old tanker game. Grab your tank, grab your healers. lean on them very very heavily…
GW2 is more about actually supporting…stacking protection/aegis to mitigate damage, timing dodges, your “tank” now having to actually be capable of kiting and/or timing parry/block skills for the bigger skills or the undodgable ones. Active combat system rather than the tired mana mechanic that must be balanced as the resources themselves could cause a lost fight. Anyone who is only along to cause damage and doesn’t actively support the group is a hinderance.
