Guild Wars 2

I’m aware of a chat app for Guild wars 1. Downloaded it recently. Would be handy if any of my friends where there. But I thought, perhaps something similer would be faaaaantastic for gw2, especially since the game is ‘all’ about the comunity you interact with. That way even if you are not playing the game you are keeping in contact with

-Various guilds especially the ones who organise their own events or are the ‘casual’ guild you speak to primarily.
-People on the friends list that you would sometimes log into the game just to find out if they are online or not
-Group chat in the party incase you need to talk to a group.

I think we are possibly heading in that direction. You can bring your contacts up in the main menu. It wouldn’t be a streach to at least be able to talk to that list. MIght need some alterations ‘but’ I think it could be possible. It definatly increases chances of people being in touch with GW2 even if they are not able to participate directly. Its a thought. I mean I’m aware of a thing called overwolf which allows you to chat to other types of Instant messaging like skype and so on while in the game. Perharps relating to that till something offical is made? Its a thought.

Actually they were talking about implementing this waaaaaaaaay back in the early development of the game. I think it is a mixture of too many other things being worked on to put a focus on it, or possibly not having anyone to develop the app. I saw on their webpage that they are looking to hire a mobile developer, so they may just not have someone with the experience to do it just yet. But I have a feeling that it will be coming along eventually.

Rift currently has this app. You can log in and chat in guild from any mobile device. It’s completely doable.

I suppose if they are working on it it’ll show up sooner or later, have to give them credit in the little time they have they do give as much as they can. Think they would do it quicker if this gained a lot of popularity though? Then again. Guild Halls has been a big request hasn’t it?
