Don’t go the WoW, SWTOR, and every other MMO out there route.

Take what Ultima Online: Age of Shadows did with Doom Gauntlet, and make it better. Already in GW2 we’re seeing servers working together in orr with dynamic events. Why not extent this server PvE philosophy into raids? Open world raids.

What the gauntlet did was have multiple rooms, each filled with bosses. Their difficulty (and number of bosses) would scale with the amount of players. Each had a minuscule chance of dropping the highest level items. After each room, another would open, and so on until you unlocked all of the rooms and the final boss would spawn. The story was horrible, and the mechanics were medieval, but Ultima Online proved that open world raids were possible.

The dynamic events aren’t bad. But I’d like a dungeon area where people can go anytime, and join right in on the action, and actually make it difficult. Meaning it’ll take the whole server a week to finally learn the fight and move on to the next one. It’d be amazing.
