The GW1 economy is currently grounded almost entirely in HOM-related items. Unidentified rares are worth more than even the best possible rares because they progress a title. Thus, any effect on the GW1 economy of giving Balth faction to owners of both games for GW2 sPVP is trivial, since the game’s economy already revolves around GW2 cosmetics. Anet already allows the economy in GW1 to wax wild with long, massive drop / title boosting events like Wayfarer’s Reverie, so it is clear that they already do not take the value of various elements of GW1 seriously. In addition, Obviously, PVP in GW2 should not grant the same amount of faction as most forms of PVP in GW1 but it would be a nice touch.

…let me organize my thoughts into points.

A: I doubt this will ever happen.

B: I would like to see this happen.

C: The concept side of this is hilarious to consider. “Oh, we think in two and a half hundred years some bloke of a completely different race that may not even yet exist will beat up some other blokes. We think that bloke’s related to you, somehow, so here, have some keys.”
