i try my best to res other players when i come across them, and i see many others do, as well. maybe, along with the experience (XP) amount we gain for ressing, why not add some Karma to that?

at least then you can get some extra on the side just for helping other players, instead of running past or away from them. might also relieve some traveling costs between way points – because some one might just happen to show up that wants 10 karma (or w/e amount). you don’t pay the 1 silver to teleport to WP, and the resser gets Karma points . maybe even as far as – downed state res = 15 karma, while from death state = 20 points multiple ressers on a single person maybe divides the amount across players, so 3 ressers on a single person like during events or dungeons) will still benefit.

unless ressing gets nerfed or removed, i see this as a positive for casual players. of course, you can still gain them from the existing ways. with so many other ways to get XP, many probably just run past or ignore ressing other players.

stupid idea? probably. i would res-farm a zone for karma on the side for sure, but it would be getting players on their feet to continue on with what they are doing. res farming may be more prominent in the lower level areas, but it could be a life saver in the higher areas and dungeons.

This has already been suggested. I think it is a bad idea.

I res / revive almost anyone I see… including NPC’s. Don’t know why, I feel bad just passing em by.
I think its a great idea… but it would need to be a nominal amount.
I am thinking sub 10 karma per revive / res, but only for Player Characters.

Whilst not saying that it’s a good idea, I disagree that it’s a bad idea. It’s certainly an INTERESTING idea. Considering what karma actually is, yes, it would be rather apposite to award karma points for taking the trouble to resurrect someone. Never very many, and a little more for doing it in combat. Say 5 for OoC player; 10 for IC player; less for NPC? Whereas xp for ressing stays the same, as now, I think? A rather neat little bonus, but one that is unlikely ever to amount to very much…

Until someone and their buddy gets it in their head to abuse it by throwing themselves off a cliff and having the other resurrect them repeatedly.

Sorry, but I don’t see this happening, for the very same reason Karma rewards were removed from the Human intro for herding civilians to the inn — people will abuse it.

Good point. As I said, it’s an interesting idea. It was the conjunction of “karma” & “resurrection” that made my interest perk up. Anet, so far, have a good reputation for watching out for people abusing the game. It might not be an insurmountable problem. If you want to tell me there are other things they could more usefully spend their time working on… I won’t disagree!
