The game is great I will admit but it is quite simply way too easy I find myself hardly needing to pay attention to play.
With that being said, instead of nerfing all the loots just make stuff harder and more rewarding.
On that note, I find myself taking a fair amount of time to kill a champion simply to get terrible loot. Why not add veteran slayer? Champion slayer? Better loot?
The game is fun, yes . But it’s way too simplified. I understand they want everyone to be able to play but what about us hardcore gamers? We can play this with our eyes closed.
To conclude I will just say where’s hard mode? Or just a harder island maybe where you can’t enter without a certain gear level.

I don’t really want to bring an argument here but I think it’s because of the downed system, I mean in pvp let’s say you’re an amazingly good player and you are fighting a group of 5 people. You manage to down one of them but the rest of the group instantly stops fighting you and revives him instantly and continues to fight you until you die or have to retreat. Now that is not skill, that is just “whoever has the most players in one area at once wins because you can revive any teammate near instantly.”

My suggestion is to reverse the revive speeds, for example: right now you can revive someone that is downed near instantly, but it takes a good amount of time to revive someone that is fully dead. So reverse the dead revive speed with the downed revive speed, with this people couldn’t just INSTANTLY revive their teammates while they are down. It would be an actual risk to try and help them during a fight, and if they happen to die they can be revived quickly to get back into the fight again so at least a good player would be rewarded credit for a kill. Then the game would be alot more challenging especially in pvp, you would actually be punished for getting downed and not generously rewarded for getting downed over and over simply because your teammates can revive you instantly. Someone could go AFK in pvp and not die if they had several teammates around lol and to me that’s ridiculous.

yeah that would also work but i am aimed more towards just more difficult fights and more rewarding things with the end game! :p

Sadly any end game contnt that is made harder will result in 1 thing, a zerg fest, simple.
Instanced area’s are the only way to control how many people fight at a time and make fights as difficult as they should be,
But im not going to suggest that as everytime I do I get shot down..

I agree but i also do enjoy zergs but with a zerg depending on amount of people attacking the boss it should get harder like they have the guild bounty bosses programmed

The 1% hardcore public is negligable in terms of revenue. You are not relevant for the development of the game, nor should you be. The game was marketed as a game for people who can’t and won’t be hardcore. You knew that before you bought it.

It’s like buying a ferrari and complaining it’s not as slow and ugly as a peugeot. Yes, I consider casual games superior to hardcore games.

If I can’t play Guild Wars 2 at work, I won’t work in Guild Wars 2 either.

marnick.4305@ the hardcore players are way more relevant than those who dies fast and then ragequit game. We hardcore players want challenge and not just stand in the same spot and shoot skills blindly and get crap loot.
We want the dragons to wipe the whole group easily with fire/ice/scourge/laser breathes, move like a real reptile without hesitation and destroy everything in its path.
And we don’t want any safe spots but always to move just like lupicus in arah path 3.

There is already way too much content catered to casuals, most casuals will struggle to do everything in the game now, which means the devs have plenty of opportunity to cater for the hardcore players.

Casual doesn’t equal bad. I’m an extremely skilled player, yet very time limited. I fall in the casual range. I have 1 night a week I can do FotM and I usually faceroll it without repairs. You’ll understand I don’t ragequit over that. I might quit if GW2 becomes more hardcore though.

The only thing hardcore means, is time commitment. While I’d like your suggestion of a difficult dragon, hardcore usually requires gear progression in order to kill said dragon, which I can’t and won’t support.

So please don’t mix up time commitment and skill. You ask for hardcore content, which, by definition, is high time requirement content. I already have a few hardcore hobbies called fiancĂ©e, friends, work and triathlon. GW2 is my casual hobby, the only MMO that mixes well with important RL things, and I’d like to keep it that way.

If I can’t play Guild Wars 2 at work, I won’t work in Guild Wars 2 either.
