Minimum zoom is too far away. I want to look closer at my character. I have to walk up against a wall to be able to do that. GW1 had zero problems with this.

First person camera – No miracles, i do not need to see my hands in front of me, just a clean view that allows me to look around, at other players, jump angles etc.

Dye Screen – so much space, why is my toon crushed up against the dye panels? can the toon be centered when in dye mode? Also since I am playing on high resolution, a zoom function would be a welcome addition.

Auto-loot Option:

In its current form it is difficult to pick up loot in the open world from defeated NPC’s, in PvP especially WvWvW the loot is transported to the player but in the heat of battle it can be a distraction to have to look around for the places where you would had stood when in combat to look for loot that you may had missed. so as you only get loot from kills that you start and or finish, and you are the only one that can see it and then pick it up; why not have the loot automatically given to the player once the enemy is defeated? or if players prefer the original method, at least have an option in the menu for players that prefer loot to be picked up automatically.

If there are group loot “need or greed” rolls in the game have the option to “need or greed” come up when using auto loot and then give the item to the winner of the roll.

thank you

Please take this into consideration ANet

Do not read unless you have passed the level 55 Personal Story Quest in the Order of Whispers
So what I feel to be a traditional mistake in MMORPG's/RPG's is that the developers always seem to kill of the characters that you get most attached to and I honestly think this is an awful idea, I don't know what would make anyone do that. So there is a few games that have done this and this always has made me not enjoy the game as much as I would have. Especially when they are replaced with someone who so boring, for example, Trahaerne he doesn't really seem to have any emotion in his voice. (Idk how to spell it). Also 1 thing that bugged me just as much as you killing Tybalt is the fact that no-one even seemed sad. The only time when I saw any emotion towards Tybalt was just before Tybalt said "Just trust me okay?" and my character realized that Tybalt was going to do something, but then everyone was like "oh Tybalt died, too bad." So please give me an option to save Tybalt in the personal story quest because you are trying to let us impact the game as much as possible and thats what *MY* character would do. You could always give me an option to send everyone off on the boat, then let me stay behind and fight a horde of risen to save Tybalt. And honestly, the only personal story characters I have liked are Tybalt, Rytlock, Zojja and Caithe, the rest well... suck compared to Tybalt because he is awesome and I bet the majority of players would agree with me (I have played all races and none had the effect Tybalt had) also you could add a side mission or something that allows me to find Tybalt and he could play no MAJOR role but just be there and put the occasional funny remark in. As I don't see this being that hard.

So ANet PLEASE PLEASE take this into consideration.

Please if possible implement a notification if an area is 100% completed. Either by an icon or mousing over an area to show status of Renown Hearts, POI’s, Vistas…etc. At the moment we have to spend a silver or so and personally travel to each place to check, and if you have more than one character it is difficult to always remember what has been completed.

T1-T3 cultural armor is far too expensive. I have done everything in the game up to this point. I have 100% map completion on the maps leading up to level 35, I’ve gathered, I’ve kept my personal story on par with my level, I’ve sold all of my items on the TP, on top of that, I haven’t died very often, and, I still only have enough gold to buy one expensive piece and one cheap piece of T1. This is a huge disappointment.

If an item set is created for level 35, then by level 35, a player aught to naturally have accrued enough gold to purchase it, if they’re using every resource at their disposal to generate income, and I, and others have, and can’t. The item is for skinning only, seems more like an opinion, than a legitimate argument.

So, I don’t think it’s an unreasonable request that, the prices be brought down more inline with the rate at which players actually accrue gold. That, or, remove or reduce armor repairs or waypoint travel fees.

Please Fix Stealth.
By this I mean when a mob or player is channeling a spell at you and you Stealth the channel should be broken just as if you ran out of line of sight.

I’ve lost track of the number of times I’ve died because this is the case. I can understand AoE hitting us while we are stealthed. That is perfectly viable. But using stealth while a mob channels at you should not continue to do damage!

^^^^^^^^ This!
Thief is an escape artist, if he cant escape channel attacks with stealth that’s a huge hole in his skill set.

My only other issue with Thief is that when stealthing through steal you will occasionally auto-attack out of stealth only to do a normal attack rather then a stealth attack.

Edit: Another thing I would like to see are traveling skills for each class that disable combat, in exchange for permanent speed boost that stays till the skill is ended, and of course the skills should no be usable during combat. I believe they should all receive a 50% movement speed boost.

  • Thief: Stealth sprint- Become one with the shadows as you travel across Tyria.
  • Ranger: Mount- Mount your current pet.
  • Engineer: Rocket Boots/Speed shoes- Use rocket boots or augmented shoes to hover or run across the land.
  • Warrior: War horse- Summon your trusty stead to carry you across Tyria.
  • Elementalist: One With the elements- Become an avatar of your currently attuned element.

If I come up with more I’ll submit them.

Edit 2: Have two slot skill sets, one for each weapon set. So if you change weapons your skills will change with them. Make it so the cool-down’s carry over as well to prevent abuse.

Here’s some ideas:

- Allow naming of storage tabs and may be bags too. So we can name them like Weapons, Armors…

-Add more materials in the storage collections tabs. I can’t store ecto in it seriously? Add more of other items as well like may be runes, sigil, tokens, town cloth, keys, transmutation stones, mystic coins, food, tonics…

-Allow to buy more storage collections room so we can stack up to 500 may be even 1000 mats, just sell +250 storage collections expansion like new storage tab.

-Allow to make favorites in the crafting recipes window (like we can with dyes).

-Display personality details next to the icon not in a popup in the hero window.

-We need more interactions with the world like using beds, chairs and even playing with pets…

-We need an interface customisation like GW1 allow to resize, move, set transparency…

-Remembering all windows positions. Actually some like Bank reset to original position when you close them.

-When displaying channel tag make it so when you click a channel tag in the chat window it opens this channel (like whispering works)

-Make waypoints free, i know it has been discussed already but you don’t feel free to travel like it is in GW1 so please make them free or for a ridiculous fee.

-Add right-click “search wiki” option for anythings link in chat, map points, even npc and such…

-Make the character selection screen display more than 7 character at once, there’s enough room to display at least 10 of them.

-Give us other range indicators, it’s so small and all the way down the screen. Just having it above the skill instead of below would be a start. Having the skill icon itself red would even be better.

-The only way to fight this army of gold seller is to have your own army. Your best option for quick reaction is to have selected users acting as “moderators” who can block them from chat until Anet review the case for ban. I’m not talking about “real moderators” but only people with the ability to blacklist someone from general channel to fight gold selling not a full chat moderator. And add a gold seller section in the report menu.

-And last give us the minipet arena in Lion’s Arch please. Make it with people fighting each other or make it simply A.I handled and allow player to bet on winner for example. Anyway make it happens

What I would like to see is the Heart Reknown quests worked on as well as Dynamic and Meta events.

Heart Reknown quests are a bit repetitve and very restrictive as in order to complete the quests you have to be around that area in order to contribute, I would like to see like an alternative part of those quests where you talk to the npc for the quest and they have a specific part in that quest is bound to you and gives you an option to go outside of the area to get points for quests that contribute to it, kinda like a fetch quest as one of them I have in mind? Like if a woman is taking care of her grandmother and she is ill and needs medicine and asks you to go to the city and get the medicine, she could either give you a pass (if possible to be implemented) or give you the money for waypoints based on your level. I currently find it very limited where the system is currently at and also if possible I would like to see when you complete the heart quests, they stay permanent, like you helping the sick sylvari’s and they stay healthy or a less hostile environment around the area while others can work on the quest and you can contribute if you talk to the npc to make it optional if you wanna toggle the events that occur in that quest, and make the reward system more unique because I find it weird that a toad has gold on him where they had a hard time getting truffles, they could reward you like the toad offering you a truffle or two or a farmer offering gowns, I don’t mind gold just I would like to make it feel more attaching to that npc to feel more natural.

I would like to see the Dynamic events and Meta events respawn time tuned down because it’s waaay to frequent and loses it’s immersion imo. I see a world boss, kill it, 30 minutes to an hour later and it’s already back… I think 1-3 weeks of these kind of bosses should be the respawn time and it’s not like we lose a way of getting exp or money since there are alot of ways of obtaining exp and money. I would also like to see world bosses be a little bit more challenging than it just spamming AoE, I could just use my ranged auto-attack and go afk and I contribute. and maybe some meta events set at certain times and have different outcomes possibly like escorting someone who is carrying cargo and is always attacked by freaking centaurs, make the attacks happen by different enemies and how many will attack during(if any) during the meta, and the the person carrying the cargo will transport his goods like 8 in the morning to 6 in the afternoon.

I see great potential with this game, though the pve content is so bleh to me currently and I hope somthing happens about this part of it’s content.

Hello Everyone,
I have also had a great time playing Guild Wars 2 and have noticed a few things a long the way that could help the longevity of the game. I will only talk about one since it is what I hear about the most. I’ve heard this while reviving different players in guild wars2. I would talk about some of the rest, but I figure you’ve probably heard about drops enough.

-Make me feel heroic:
1) Other than the personal storyline most people don’t feel heroic. A lvl 48 Guardian or Thief should not be dying to a double team of a bat and elk (that’s just wrong and embarrassing). Besides what is a lvl 48 elk and bat, seriously? It might be better not to have every little thing level up like we do or if you do change it, make it bigger and more awesome sauce. I can imagine nothing worse than defeating a bunch of pirates/undead/bandits in your personal storyline, then getting downed by two BATS outside of the storyline.

Thank You and have a Great Day!

Hello everyone I forgot something else that’s very important. The weapon powers will also have you lose a lot of casual fans. Since, you have to fight with certain weapons to be viable in pve/pvp. For instance, an engineer will have a lot harder time trying to play while dual wielding pistols than if he used the flame thrower or the rifle. All that does is make the casual fan get switch over to the rifle and then get annoyed and quit because they want to use dual pistons, but it is sooo much harder.

Thanks,

Looking For Group System Improvements

TBH, it feels like your LFG is pulled right out of EverQuest.
so here goes:
1. make everyone in LFG appear in LFG no matter what zone they’re in. right now it’s separated by zone which does not make sense, and it doesn’t work very well.
2. make it cross server(yea yea, i know what ravings are gonna follow with this one, but between the soon to come guesting and the fact that you can already run dungeons cross server in guild wars 2 there’s no downside and there need be NO discussion about this point in any way).
3. make categories for content type(events, map completion, dungeon(have specific dungeon listings).
4. the vastly overwhelming majority of GW2 players don’t even know a form of LFG tool exists, i have never seen more than six names in LFG and everyone spams chat. the tool is extremely primitive, and i would like to see improvements. i do not call for the instant group matchmaking and teleporting tool of WoW. not that i have any strong feelings about it either way, it’s just not necessary.

Gem Store and Black Lion Chest Improvements

1. You should have already been doing this, selling pet skins and haircuts in the gem store. rock do, svanir hound, basilisk, raptor, gryphon, tuna, shrimp, squid, dolphin, etc. skins for pet. people would buy this in droves.

2. chests are over abundant and worthless. tonics are meh, and since there’s nothing valuable guaranteed to be in the chest no one cares about them. my suggestion is to add an unidentified dye as a guaranteed chest item. this would give the at last some value.

Original post from XeoZ:
———————————-
First off, thanks for the great game ArenaNet! The level of polish at launch beats any other MMO launch in recent memory. I have enjoyed every minute of play times so far.
That said, there are a couple places where some improvement might be possible. So here are the things I would like to see given a little bit of love.
Preview gear and weapons on the trading post. Ever since the trading post has come up I’ve been browsing it often for upgrades, but right now it is very difficult to predict how gear or weapons will render based solely on the icon.
Load more characters on screen and/or load characters faster. This is fairly uncommon but can be devastating in WvW. Getting chased/killed by an invisible hate train of invaders is a bit frustrating.
I’d like to see badges of honor treated as currency. I know this is probably impossible, but WvW basically has me constantly mashing the F button during combat.
Helper NPCs in storyline quests should be more useful. I’m probably spoiled from the companion NPCs from another recent MMO title, but especially for vigil storyline quests I often have a small army of NPCs following me around and they feel like more of a hindrance most of the time. I’d like them to do a bit more damage and prioritize helping me a little more.
I’ve got more but I don’t want to make this seem like a hate thread. I really do love the game and these minor complaints do not make me any less happy to be playing.
Does anyone else have any suggestions? I’d like to see what other players are thinking as well.
—————————-

100% agree with Xeoz !
Absolut the same things what are in my mind.

Truth is the average of all points of view.

1.Personal Guild Area (Instanced).
Besides the functional aspect of joining a guild, having your own building (castle) or place to “chill” with your guild mates would be great. This game lacks of cozy spots, and after all, I think we all can agree that we want to feel like at “home”.

2. Structured PvP x 2.
I believe the main purpose of our current structured pvp is to be able to try all the classes at their max potential without needing to level a character, if so, bravo arena, you really succeded.
Yet, would be great if we could have a “secondary” heart of the mists, placed as level / gear, meaning, 1 – 10, 11 -20, 21 – 30, etc. / using only your currents gears.
Why? Because in that way we could measure how strong our character really is, like I just bought some gears and I want to try them out in a pure pvp scenario (WvW is more about strategy), also perhaps I find out that I like toughness better than power, etc.

Ok today i came up with one more suggestion that is absolutely mandatory.

Fix summoned creature ai
For example 6th tier bonus of superior rune of the pirate is a chance to summon a parrot that fights for you. Parrot itself is really helpful – tanks, deals damage, looks good. It would be all fine but there is one thing – parrot tries to kill literally EVERYTHING around that is not neutral. See group of 4 grawl shamans standing still and chilling out while you try to move past without aggroing them ? Sure, but half second later you also see your parrot aggroing them all, dying and making you die aswell. Really annoying. Summoned creatures should be guarding player – attack only monsters that are already attacking player, attack what player is attacking or simply respond to “call target”, not try to suicide on first thing they can see.

Okay, I’m coming in to put my stamp of approval on this suggestion as well. I love the parrot for all of the reasons this post mentioned – super tanky, good damage, can even help you rally by popping out when you’re downed and tanking enemies. He just aggros way too much. If he were set to defensive stance everything would be significantly better about using this parrot.

On top of this problem, he also allows players in WvW to rally. This should NOT occur. As far as I’m aware we don’t rally when Ranger pets are killed, so there’s no reason a summoned pet from armor should allow a player to rally. I literally left WvW right after I saw this in order to change out the rune piece.

Keep in mind the Pirate set is primarily for its magic find – we take the parrot because it’s a fun option, instead of going with the sensible magic find from Traveler rune. Given the problems above, however, the parrot just isn’t fun. He should be, but he ends up just causing nothing but sighs and fits of severe annoyance. I sincerely hope his aggressive stance is looked into, as well as allowing players to rally in WvW – it’s just not a fun option to use the parrot with these two facts in place.

  • ability in WvsW when a guild claims a fort to lock some of or all the resources
  • less expensive TP, I understand gold sink, but feeling constrained in my love of traveling is really bad. I would rather keep that for real life (where I already need to spend a lot of money to pay for car, gas, toll on highway, trains). I hate that. Let me be free in an virtual universe I like. Make other goldsink, like mini-games or whatever.
  • to expand WvsW possibilities, making gigantic and organized buses of people shouldn’t be the best way to win. Issue is the capacity for very big groups of people to break through almost everything. There should be counter-attacks to this. Small groups doing efficient things should be a counter (doing what I don’t know). Arrow carts when they are fixed should be able to help. Maybe smaller objectives all around the map should contribute to the final score (a good way to split the players).
  • clipping needs to be improved (if we could see at least the “name tag” of opponents before we see them completely).
  • autoloot in inventory (at least for the “badges of honour”) in WvsW seems like a must

More armor choices.
In GW1, every starter area had a choice of three armors per profession.
After leaving the starter areas, money, and getting to where it was sold was the only deterant to getting a nice looking armor/ armor combination.
Here, we have one choice per class of professions. (Unless we get some in a drop, and continuously transform newer pieces.)

Racial armor-What? We’re not part of the race until level 80? It should be a choice from character creation, if not the starter armor.

Profession Selection Armor (The armor you see during character creation when you select a profession.)-Why don’t we start with that? I’ve seen dozens of folks at level 80, none have the Profession Selection Armor, and no one seems to know where or even if we can ever get it.

We spend quite a bit of time during character creation to get our characters to look just right. All of that time and effort gets ruined by being forced to wear the junk we have to wear/buy.

And, along those lines, what happened to unlocked dyes being account wide?
In GW1, we could only see the armor that we could wear in a vendor’s list, why do we need to see all three classes of armor? If nothing else why not show us three types we can wear?

(Sorry if this sounds like a rant, but it really bothers me.)

There was a dragon there. There’s no way you would be able to save him. He sacrificed himself so you could escape and keep playing.

My suggestion is related to this part of the story line. It seems to me that there’s hardly anything Tybalt can do to buy any time whatsoever against such a massive horde of risen. My suggestion is that before he leaves you he shows you an explosive vest under his coat or take a bigkitten bomb under his arm. If you’re going to kill him at least let him go out with a bang, or something that could actually buy some time.

Few things I came up with that would be great additions to the game but are very minor:

  • Contacts list could use a bit of a spoofing. How about a way to see when our contacts come online like a notification on screen? Would really like to see this.
  • Permanent pet names would be great. Every time I switch my pet I have to rename it because the name has been reset.

These may have already been suggested and I know one of them at least is a big issue, but here’s my thought on things that desperately need to be put into place

Targeting: I am always loosing my target when clicking to move. so sticky targeting is something that would make this game even better

Officer chat! : this is my biggy. I’m a guild leader and it is such a pain in the bum to communicate with all of my officers about organising guild events etc

Previewing items from the trading post and inspecting other players. Time and time again I have wanted to see how a piece of armour looks on my character, either from what I’ve seen on another player, or from the trading post.

Again from a guild leader perspective, I would like to see who are the top contributors to my guild. I’d like to thank them for their efforts.

And lastly, player to player trading and character to character mail. I dont know why but I find it very frustrating having to use the mail system to send someone something, this isn’t such a big deal though really. However the character to character thing is really growing to bother me. My bank is jam packed, plus is have to travel to the bank to put something in for my other character then log onto them and get them to travel to the bank so they can collect it. It’s a bit of a long winded way of doing it and with such short bank space often very difficult too.

However it’s a great game, so keep up the good work A net

Fix the state of being out of combat. Sometimes it’s so bugged. No creep even close to me and I’m still not healing up. Add a “Out of Combat” notification.

Give us something for reaching a special amount of achievement points. Right now I have 1211 and it’s nothing more than a status. “Yeah cool, I have 1211 points and can’t do anything with it / don’t get anything for it.”
Like, give us a box of items/orbs/whatever for reaching 500/1000/2000/5000/10000 points or something like this.

Improved Chat:
-A way to let several chat tabs to be arranged on the screen separately, this would virtually fix the problem with misreading whispers/party chat caused by high traffic in public channels (This way, we can put a tab outside the actual chat window, allowed to show whispers/party chat only).
-A way to recolor channel font to whatever color we feel comfortable with.

Aside from improved chat, there’s this camera issues compilation: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/suggestions/Camera-Related-Issues-Compilation-and-Lengthy-Anaylsis , Target’s target feature should be implemented too, an improved tooltip that would allow to see what’s the current level, race and profession when we click someone’s name in chat, and a search feature that would let us find a character/guild.

Aside from the topic in my signature, here’s some things I’d like to see:

  • option to disable targeting allies, since it’s actually useless and deterimental to gameplay
  • adding a cel-shaded effect, or a blue outline on your character when behind walls, in a crowd, or otherwise hard to see
  • adding a whisper notification icon/inbox in the UI
  • rework some UI elements and icons to make them more consistent and intuitive. The add bank space button is extremely hard to find. The gear icon in the inventory tells us nothing of its function, or that it will open a dropdown menu. Also, the dropdown arrow button in crafting next to the search field is widely used as a history selector, not a filter modal window.
  • Add an option to stop pulsating the glow when making a Sylvari character. It makes it really frustrating to choose a color when you literary have a timer to judge it, and to wait to see your new one.

General:
• One alternate build slot.  To allow a PvE and a WvW build.

• Separate key binds per character, with ability to copy from one char to another to get to a default
• Toggle to show items in environment, rather than having to hold down ctrl.
• Remove Esc from stopping you running.
• Slider to increase turning speed from keyboard, similar to mouse sensitivity.

Chat / Communications:
• Ability to link everything to chat. Gear, Recipes, Skills, from Preview Pane as well.
• Alliance chat / Custom chat channels.

Camera:
• Mouse Zoom / FOV change.  Let me zoom out and in more (all the way to first person please)… and increase the FOV… My eyes are hurting

• Option for self health bar above / below target heath bar.
• Casting / Charge bar below target bar. (ability to see when target is casting)
• Within range indicator below 1-5 buttons is inaccurate.
• Target of Target display
• World Map: Turn on / off items from legend. Would help trying to locate that last POI or Vista for a zone that you just cant seem to locate.
• An apply button for trait points, as well as a minus, so you can work on a build prior to applying it.
• Display actual HP instead of percentage.
• Self Health bar instead of bubble.
• Character Screen: Zoom ability, Dye screen center character as well.
• Pop-up windows (your in queue, or confirmation box for equipping an item) should not interfere with game controls… i.e right mouse click to turn etc.
• Pop-up windows: Ability to respond via keyboard. Spacebar / Enter for Ok, Y or N or Yes or No.

• Allow salvage on all items. Especially Heart vendor items that I bought with karma.
• Mystic Forge: All Items Bind on Equip, or at worst Bind to Account. No need to make equipment I cant even use or trade.
• More filtering options. i.e. your skill level is 400 but you want to make a level 30 warhorn for a buddie. Need filter for making certain level range of gear to include the parts for it and the bonus pieces.
• Increase stack size beyond 250

I was disappointed to find that I couldn’t transmute accessories. I know it’s not shown on your character (I think?), but I really like the idea of my exotic earring being a shoelace stolen from a bandit.

Not horrifyingly important, but could we please have a Sylvan Hound mini-pet? If there is some reason why not, then I understand.

-Improve Thieves Guild survivability and add the choice of selecting which 2 thieves you want (dual dagger, dual pistol, shorbow, sword/dagger)
-Mesmer clones can climb walls in wvw, kinda unfair
-Reduce costs of wp in 100% completed zones (as someone mentioned) and also adjust the costs based on distance traveling not level. If i die and the closests wp is 5 ft away, i shouldn’t have to pay 2s to get there..
-PVE mobs and npcs still target you during stealth if its a long channeling skill or spell. Something quick i can understand but not if it takes more than 3 seconds to use or finish.
-New weapon skills that are quested or found not just earned from using the weapon. This will add more content and adventure to those who seem to want more diversity in their class. Not necessarily all new skills because GW1 had some repeats but just having a diff look or cond effect makes the players look diff even if the dmg is the same.

Just do botting, its more general since bots spam and scam.

1.) Pressing F12 (In GW1 & GW2) brings up a selection screen.
-a.) In GW1 we can then press ‘C’ to go to character selection.
-b.) It would be nice to have in GW2 too.
2.) Walking about in areas or towns in Towns Clothes is a nice RPG touch.
-a.) It get’s annoying, and breaks the mood when you fall attempting to do vistas or jumpin puzzles to be switched back.
-b.) Being attacked is understandable, falling is not.
3.) Stowing a pet is nice while exploring, and especially while doing vistas and jumping puzzles.
-a.) Having your pet pop up after falling gets annoying.
-b.) Being attacked is understandable, falling is not.
-c.) Having a pet pop back out if you attack, without being attacked first, would be nice.
4.) Being able to purchase Towns Clothes from vendors would be nice.
5.) Better dances would be nice. Most look as though they were done by someone who had one to many this morning.
-a.) The female asura GOLEM dance is an exception, it’s kinda cool, and her sound affects add a nice touch.
-b.) The human female dance almost resembles a cowboy-like dance. Not my style, but at least it’s almost recognizable.
6.) A color preview of dyes would be nice, especially for those in the trading post.
-a.) Buying dozens of dyes, hoping to get that perfect shade is a pain.
-b.) I tried to get several shades of orange, and while the names sounded like orange items, some were reds, and some were yellows. Quite annoying, and a waste of coin.
7.) Having dyes that are at least close when applied to different items would be nice.
-a.) My thief’s subterfuge hood, which looks to be cloth or at worst, leather, becomes a much darker shade than when the same color is applied to any other article of armor.
