Game Improvement - Suggestions
I have a couple.
- Please stop auto moving my characters on the character select screen. at least leave them where we first created them or let us order them ourselves alphabetically or something.
- Add titles to the three orders for each rank that you get. Only cosmetic fluff but it was disappointing when I discovered I got nothing for it. More titles in general would also be good.
- Waypoint costs need readjusting. A reduced cost for completing a zone you can travel to would be nice.
- Karma armour and weapons could be reduced a bit
- At least let us salvage karma weapons and vendors to get something useful from them rather than letting them go to waste.
- Some tooltips don’t update after being affected by traits. The mesmer shatters are one I can think of.
- Add a Suggestion Forum to avoid cluttering up this section
EDIT :
- Add a token collection tap in the bank. They clutter up the inventory and let us deposit them in there.
- Add coloured borders around items depending on their quality.
- Let us know who the party leader is and let us transfer leadership if possible.
- Option to sell back karma gear and weapons, dungeon armour and weapons if the wrong item was bought by accident.
- Add the option to auto swap town clothes when entering a city
- Link the city channels together so it’s more global.
- Add an LFG channel or something similar.
- Add a notifcation when an item sells on the trading post.
- Preview items on trading post.
- First person view
- Mass collapse / open in the collection tab
EDIT 2 :
- Add the trading post fee to the total selling value rather than having to manually do it. Might actually mean the economy could improve a bit.
- Dungeons need tweaking. Keep the challenge but graveyard zerging should have an alternative.
- Lower health of trash mobs and some damage. Boss health needs to be reduced before it just gets boring.
- More interactive encounters rather than tank and spank.
- Add difficulty options to the various options you can choose in dungeons i.e Easy, Medium, Hard and adjust the rewards accordingly.
- Jute! Need more Jute and wool etc
- Group join to WvWvW
~Charr Guardian~ – ~Norn Necromancer ~
(edited by Whitewolf.9736)
- Add target to target option (good for PvP and PvE).
- I want to see HP of mobs as numbers eq mob has 1987hp/1987 and also in %.
- Option to see own name and HP bar
- Option to customize own UI
- Max camera distance is to close to character
- End game content… a lot of people get bored already after they hit max lvl. We need RAIDS with strategy and not zerking another dragon.
- Lower ques to WvWvW, idk how but this problem is at the same lvl as late loading of characters on WvWvW.
- DUELS! I dont even understand why there is no duel option!!
- Inspect players!
- Preview build of another player

hi
i have nothing more to say i think many players want this… its something fun and great for the game. dueling… with other player and friends. its great because so we can test our skills one on one, because we cant do it anywhere else… SOMETIME in WvsW or pvp… but not always… so i hope this update will come soon…
Hey everyone. I noticed a lot of people have suggestions about what they would like to see in the game, here and on reddit.
I would like to see a whole new section for Game Suggestions, that way the Guild Wars 2 Discussion section is not full of suggestions.
Just a thought.
Gate of Madness

Good suggestions, quoted some things that have been bothering me as well:
Preview gear and weapons on the trading post.
Helper NPCs in storyline quests should be more useful.
Waypoint costs need readjusting. A reduced cost for completing a zone you can travel to would be nice.
Option to see own name and HP bar
Also, add first person mode, please!
I posted a thread about this here: http://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/zn6se/i_figured_out_what_i_hate_about_the_way_targeting/
The targeting in GW2 is unlike any I can remember in previous MMOs. Using left mouse to scroll around your character for observation is absolutely routine for MMO players, especially PvPers, and it’s frustrating as hell to start swiveling the camera and get a new target.
At least provide an option for this, I’m not sure how we didn’t identify and fix this in beta.
Big list on Reddit: http://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/z6mbe/the_ultimate_list_of_changes_youd_like_to_see/
I’m pretty sure you guys want to use the Fiery Dragon Sword in pvp as a status symbol. That’s all well and good, but could you please add a 1h sword replacement to the HOM for PVP? I didn’t grind out 30+ HOM points so that I’d have to use the terrible looking 1H regular PVP sword. Is there any way to get this fixed or is this just how it’s going to be?
This has been mentioned ad nauseum but i’ll put it in this thread for good measure.
Please allow us to craft from Bank/Collectibles tab: In the last game update you touched on the subject, so I assume it’s in the works already
Event scaling: Something seems broken with event scaling, especially when fighting epic bosses like the dragons. Please consider better HP scaling, adds with abilities and crowd control. Currently the larger events turn into AOE spamming and you really don’t get the sense of danger or risk involved with taking on some of the most dangerous creatures inTyria
I do enjoy the ease at which you can teleport across Tyria but I would really like to see mounts in the game…
Make Mini Pets usefull – Add a slot in the character so we can put a Mini pet in. If we could rename or even customize it, it would be great and probably would increase mini-pets sales.

I agree with some already posted, including:
-Preview items on the Trading Post
-Reduced Waypoint costs or reduced repair costs
-More helpful NPCs
Also, I would like the ability to see my own characters names. And a characters title should be easier to see. I enjoyed earning titles in Guild Wars 1 because I was able to easily display it and others could easily see it. I could also see my own title by hovering my pointer over my character’s name. In this one the titles might as well not even exist. The only way you can see it is if you manually target a character and look under his name on the top of the screen. It might seem like a small thing, but working for titles is a pretty big part of the end-game and there needs to be a feeling that you’re really working for something that you can show off.
I would like inventory icons to have a different background for newly acquired items and when clicking on the icon above the minimap when you acquire something new. When I get a new trident or spear and I want to equip it, it is sometimes hard to find it in all of the item icons, especially when some share the same icon.
Also, I get confused on some events when there is a progress bar. Some progress upwards to completion and some progress downwards and I am not sure if I have noticed a pattern. Some indication about which is needed to complete the event would be super handy. Maybe a little arrow in the progress bar to indicate the completion direction? Sometimes when I stumble into an event where the progress bar is at the left end, I try to rush over to get in before it completes…but sometimes it goes up instead of down making those few seconds of panic unwarranted
Simple changes that I think would affect usability greatly!
A few big things for me:
• Key Bind 3 Different keybinds. Loot, Resurrect and Interact. Sometimes I want to resurrect rather than looking an item or chopping a tree etc.
• Vendor auto filter. On by default. If I cannot use it because of profession (not level), do not show it. No point. Especially on Karma vendors. Oh yes, I have double clicked on the wrong item a couple of times.
• Mouse Zoom / FOV change. Let me zoom out more… and increase the FOV… My eyes are hurting
• World Map: Turn on / off items from legend. Would help trying to locate that last POI or Vista for a zone that you just cant seem to locate.
WvW:
• Queue for all 4 WvW areas.
• Show what battleground I am queued for when queued for only one.
• Show Queue time. both how long I have been queued and estimate.
• Ability to see WvW score when in overflow.
• Auto-Loot bags. Miss them all the time, they contribute to lag as well.
Mail / Trading:
• Remember last person sent to.
• COD (Cash on Delivery)
• Player to player trading in person.
Crafting:
• More contrast showing what recipe is selected.
• Remember collection tab’s settings. I.e. keep food tab collapsed.
• Option to re-order the collection tabs. i.e. put food at the bottom.
• Karma vendors for various trophies (small fangs etc.) or ways to upgrade / downgrade a surplus of one line to another. i.e. salvage Fangs to Small Fangs to Tiny Fangs.
• Allow salvage on all items. Especially Heart vendor items that I bought with karma.
• Mystic Forge: All Items Bind on Equip, or at worst Bind to Account. No need to make equipment I cant even use or trade.
Class:
• Necromancer:
? Display pet life
? Pet Control: Ability to call off pets or send to attack.
? Consistent healing out of combat: sometimes they heal sometimes they don’t.
• Ranger:
? Pet Names do not stay.
• Engineer
? Display turret life on UI
? Turret name to display personal tag to tell between others.
? Alternate Keybind for picking up Turret (sucks to pickup turret when you just want to loot or revive someone.
Annoying that every single death 1 piece breaking, please, let us do a full repair even if they are not broken to put them to 100%.
Thank you.

1) return -useoldlauncher or give us some option to see the in-game login screen
2) first person camera
3) more economic infrastructure (face-to-face trading, cash-on-delivery mailing, ridiculou why we don’t have these in the first place)
4) optimized world-raid events, ie. shatterer, taquatl, whatever. people are dropping to terrible FPS on modern PCs here.
Um, the armor repair people I talk to repair everything 100% when I talk to them.
Sanctum of Rall
“Quaggan’s a piwate! Yarr!” – “Pirate”
- Larger Instances – One of the things holding back my guild from playing is nothing for the whole guild to do together, and progress as a team. 10-20 man “dungeons” would go a long way.
- Mounts – this would open up enormous customization potential for players, and would be a Gem store windfall.
- Diplomacy/Reputation – a way for players to earn favor among the various outposts in Tyria to unlock rewards and even more content.
- Player Housing – Full on, no-holds barred player housing system! Check out WildStar and RIFT for starters, plus legacy stuff such as EQ2 and Star Wars Galaxies
Off the top of my head… and to be clear these are suggestions for features, not “improvements” per se.
As far as actual improvements, I think we need better security, better performance, a whole bunch of UI refinement (player-addons would be nice) and mobile access to certain areas of the game.
Let us chat with multiple guilds!
Joining multiple guilds is next to useless if you can’t chat with as many of them as you want. I’m a member of a small IRL friends guild as well as a bigger guild that actually does stuff, and it sucks that if I want to be included in activities I can’t chat with my friends without resorting to out-of-game communication.
id like to see…
1 – spell effects filters example – show mine only/show group only/show all
if not filters then a way to adjust the spell effect separately
2- make story rewards scale to you actual level not your adjusted level.
3- the ability to reposition all skills on the hotbar to my liking.
4- allow us to set status to invisible by default.. or invisible to all not onf riedns list or in guild.
thanks

I couldn’t find the appropriate section for this post, because it’d fit best in a guild-related portion of a Suggestions/Feature Requests section. I do, however, want to share this with everyone because I think these are much needed features. I am also curious to see if other people also feel this way (if you do please reply to bring this to the Devs’ attention)
The guild functionality is a little lacking. Here are some things that I think could greatly improve it:
-Access to more detailed info for each member
Infromation such as “Last Login”, “Join Date”, “Last Rank Change Date”, “Influence Contribution”, etc. should be somehow publicly available to guild members.
-Split up the “Admin Lower Ranks” permission into “Invite Members”, “Kick Members”, “Change Ranks of Lower Members”
-Change the sorting of members by status to differentiate between Representing and Not Representing
-Add functionality/permission for “Mute Member’s Guild Chat”
-Add “Date Invited” field or and automatic time-out for guild invitations
-Make the message of the day field retain the previous message when the text editor is brought up
-More guild upgrades (this is a general statement and most likely already is in development but I thought I might as well bring it up)
-(Another long shot feature) Add a tab that has sign ups for Dungeon, WvW, or sPvP teams. Something where members could just click join (maybe if they have the required permission) and would greatly help teams organize.
I left out a few other things that are most likely bugs and not missing features.
I am a guild leader with 250 members and management is getting very tedious without some of these features. I would put adding “Last Login” and “Influence Contribution” fields and splitting up the “Admin Lower Ranks” as highest priority in terms of aiding successful guild management.

In WvW, the ability to donate for upgrades instead of having one person purchase the entire thing. A bar can appear showing how much has been donated before completion of the upgrade. Essentially allows pooling of resources by the entire team, instead of one person investing more heavily than everyone else.
In WvW you often have to aim high, for example on top of keeps walls. Since the camera height is so low, the space to do so is about 1/3 of the screen.
In the middle of this small space there is the current target UI, that disallows setting the AOE target in that area. The result is that the cast fails or fires in the wrong place, unless you use the 1/9 space on the top/left or top/right corner.
There is poor usefulness in being able to click on current target, so place make it transparent to mouse.
The biggest thing for me would be the transition from Guild Wars 1 to Guild Wars 2.
Many of my IRL friends and Guild mates agree that Guild Wars 1 was more enticing to play because you could customize all 8 slots to make very specific and unique builds.
Essentially, in the current system, one’s play style does not change past level 10. This means players are playing the exact same characters from levels 10 – 80.
(Note: I picked level 10 because that’s the approximate level when I maxed all my weapon skills)
As well, utility skills add little to no customization aside from very few. Playing a Ranged DPS Ranger, I simply have 2 buffs (Quickening Zephyr and the Bleeding active) with Lightning Reflexes and Rampage as One. However, these skills do nothing to actually change my play style, and many of my attempted “builds” have had a similar feeling.
What I would like to see (maybe not soon, but in the future) would be a way to customize the left side of the bar. Make hundreds of skills like in Guild Wars 1, so unique builds can start to flourish and players feel attached to their own creation.
However, the skill quality of Guild Wars 2 is a lot more flashy, which means developing hundreds of skills would be painful. Nevertheless, I feel like Guild Wars 2 is trying to be a MOBA instead of trying to be the sequel to Guild Wars 1, where skill was determined by strategy, planning, and coordination.
I hope later expansions and patches release to make this combat less stale.
More PvP formats – not everyone is a fan of the Alliance Battle style of PvP. Structured PvP is really just AB/JQ/FA stripped down into a much simpler format. And WvW is really just AB/JQ/FA built up into a much more complicated and obnoxious format. Death match is gone; organized team play is gone. The precedents set in GW1 have been gutted and we’re left with practically nothing.
No Dishonor – in fact sPvP is hot-joinable and you can leave at any time to the detriment of your team, no equipment creation screen, no variety of pvp gameplay, no free organized team format (lol Tournament Tickets in the cash shop… wow), you can’t use your PvE gear in PvP – it’s literally impossible. No more ghostly hero announcer, instead we have this obnoxious Halo 3 Call of Duty guy that quickly becomes annoying, babying the players and narrating every little thing that happens in a match.
But PvP isn’t the only thing. The whole game feels a lot like WoW and only a little like Guild Wars.
Dragontimer – I’d love / like to see some sort of an Dragontimer being displayed on one of the cornes of the Minimap if you’re getting on one of the few Maps where one of the Dragons is spawning so you will know the time when the next spawn is, since currently the chat gets flooded with people asking for the time when the dragon will respawn again…

Let me see the WvW maps before I queue so I can make an educated decision on which one I would want to help with.
Let me filter trading post armor by type so I don’t have to comb through armor my class can’t use to find what I am looking for.
Reduce the token cost of the dungeon gear, running the instances that many times for a single piece is not fun.
Make the stats on the PvP WvW gear actually stats we would want. I have all these tokens and literally nothing to spend them on because the gear stats are trash compared to what I can buy in the AH in 2 seconds.
Consider adding another WvW area that is underground and non-linear like Darkness fall from DAOC. This would allow more people to get into WvW and create a unique environment for WvW.
Add an option to auto deposit collectables upon pick up so I don’t need to click the send to collection button every 10 minutes.

In my opinion, Shields should receive a large boost to their Defense. Their current bonus is far too low. The trade off for using a shield should be lower attack power for higher defense, but as is stands you are trading higher attack power for hardly any better defense.
I can best make my case with an example. The level 54 rare gloves that my character is using have a defense bonus of 95, while the level 60 rare shield that I use only has a defense of 36!
I would be 100% okay with increasing it’s defense but lowering its attack power, because their attack power is almost on par with a one-handed sword. I just think it would make more sense for a giant hunk of metal strapped to my arm to provide more defense than a pair of gloves.
That being said, I love the game, and whether this is addressed or not I will probably continue to use the sword and board because i love the flavor, and rule of cool beats all, and the fact that this is the biggest beef I have with the game speaks volumes as to the games high quality!
Thank you for taking the time to read this, and I look forward to the possibility that this will be addressed.
I love the fact my supplies are in a collections tab but could we still craft without removing them from there??
I can understand you might have to put it in your bag space to craft but just would be easier, cause then just the crafted things are in your bags????
Hey,
As someone who played GW1 and all expansions i have to say im loving GW2 but i cant help feeling there are some things in the game id love to see changed, and id like to hear how others feel about what could be changed/brought in to make the game better than it already is.
Here are some id like to see.
1. The one thing i would love to see most is extra utility slots 5 just aint enough,
even an extra 2 would be great.
2. The leveling system in pve is pritty strange at low levels as you level way slower than the events and quests allow. maybe im missing something here :P i find myself running to the other race zones to catch up (maybe im ment to ?)
3. Is there such thing as too many dynamic events ? i might be alone here but i used to love in gw1 when i had a quest or skill drop that was deep in the map that had no fast travel and was hard to reach with gangs of mobs all over the place, it gave a sence of exploration, just seems like there are mounds of people around every corner at some event you never feel like you are in danger anywhere.
I really dont want to sound like im moaning or im unhappy with the game because if i was to list the things i like id be here all night :P
Ban all the bots.
Love the game.
Bots are everywhere.
Some of them that weren’t afk even brag about how he made 100g from botting.
Botters are running wild.
Anet’s response- Keep going bros!
no Seriously, all you need just 1 gm and check the botting areas, it’s not VERY HARD. Takes like an hour to ban all the high level bots. And if your not satisfied to go lower level area. If you need help finding bots PM ME.
Wow, sticky thread. Thanks moderator!
I really have to second this idea.
In WvW, the ability to donate for upgrades instead of having one person purchase the entire thing.
When I spend a bunch of silver (or more) upgrading structures I usually end up feeling a bit ripped off because I’ve had to personally invest so much for a team goal that may not be achieved.
I would love to be able to contribute a few silver to upgrading any structure I pass through. This is especially true for the castle. Asking one person to personally sacrifice so much money for something that they will see little to no return from is a bit rough.
This was probably expected to be handled by guilds, but right now that money is usually being spent by individuals who want to see us hold a position.
As a guild leader I would like to be able to see how much each individual guild member has contributed to the guild’s reputation points.
Previewing in trading post is my biggest problem. >_<

Please include an option to disable attacking/interaction on right clicking! I use it to move my camera around, and constantly find myself attacking random targets and talking to random people during combat. If there’s an option to disable right-click selecting anything would be wonderful, since I only use left-click to target things anyways. Pointless to have both mouse buttons target.
One more thing: In WvW prioritize players who contribute supply to a siege weapon over players who did not.
It is awesome that the person who buys the blueprints has main priority over all players, but I think it would be cool that below them, the players who contributed their supply could kick out players who contributed nothing to it.
I was instructed by ANet to post this on the forum; they said that, if it’s an idea that enough people like, they’ll consider implementing it! =D
I’ve always loved how Role-Playing-Game’s (RPG’s) show not only your characters’ equipped weapons, but also the others which are ‘put away’. For example, my Ranger carry’s a Longbow and a Greatsword. I would LOVE to see both weapons across my back when running around; even seeing the quiver for my bow would be AWESOME.
I know that ANet set out to design a game that brings back the RPG feel of a game, and I think this would be an excellent touch =)
Also, I know that another of ANet’s goals was/is to offer an action-oriented combat style similar to that which can be found in a First-Person Shooter (FPS), where players also carry all their weapons on their backs as well.
I believe it would also provide a nice bit of tactical information in situations such as PvP; being able to know what other weapons your opponents have and what sort of play-style they’ll be able to counter yours with, and vice-versa.
Thanks again for such an amazing game, and being very well known for listening to your community; I wouldn’t even bother putting in a suggestion with any other company.
Doing great; keep it up!

Crafting cooldowns which give us some room to make a profit based on time.
Also, I would personally like this feature to be an option, so that people who don’t like multiple weapons across their back could still have just one. Maybe not optional for PvP, if it WAS found to provide some sort desired tactical information viable in PvP, but for sure in PvE.
Better ways to make money outside of the TP.

Town Clothes
- Please add an option we can toggle so that our character always appears in town clothes while in cities.
- Make it so that falling damage no longer switches us from town clothes to armor.
I like the concept of town clothes, but at the moment I find myself constantly having to change back whenever I go over a slightly too large drop.
“As a guild leader I would like to be able to see how much each individual guild member has contributed to the guild’s reputation points.”
Measure your guild mate’s performance by actually playing with them and getting to know them, like a human being.
Editing note: I have edited this post as some of its contents would provoke some flaming reactions from other users. The suggestion has not been touched though.

This game is about exploring, not following a certain guide line. Yes they want you to level in other zones at your level. C’mon man!
You can do that without levelling due to the scaling system.
GW1 has ‘close all dialogs’, GW2 needs it. WHY, WHY, WHY is this still not a part of the binds? Esc, Esc, Esc, Esc, Esc, Esc until my character stops moving and I am forced to click on the ‘return to game’ or get the odd extra Esc in there is really getting annoying. Anyone else?
And if that part is not broken enough, WHY, WHY, WHY, can I NOT CALL A TARGET unless I’m in a party or inviting someone to a party? How does this make sense? If you are gonna seperate something like this use the skull, triangle, moon and diamond thingy for in party only, LET ANYONE CALL A TARGET.
Sorry for the screaming but these 2 issues are making me want to go back to playing GW1.
And if you are clueless as to why I want to call a target while not partied, here’s just a few reasons:
- one word, underwater
- mark target, change targets, re-acquire marked target, why do I need to be in a party to gain this functionality? WHY?
- who the hell am I shooting at in a cluster-f#@&?
I’ve put this here in the hopes that others will complain enough about these 2 very broken parts of this game to get them fixed faster, so, yes, it is in the correct part of the forum. Just in case, I have previously put this in the GW1 wiki feedback for GW2.
And please let us move the target info, it is #3 on my list of annoying things about this UI. It’s broken, fix it.

“Town Clothes

"
I agree with both of these, except I would add to allow us to wear town clothes anywhere, at any time. We paid REAL MONEY for it, but got less value than we got in GW1 when we paid real money for cosmetics.
not sure about the leveling thing.. you get exp for everything you do… I think its too fast, especially with what you get for crafting and gathering. IMO exp needed to level should be increased. especially since there are 4 other race zones you could go to
Hello readers, I have had a great time playing GW2 and have thought of some suggestion that could help the game grow and improve. So without further ado let’s get started:
Raid night: Allot of MMO players have played WoW once in their lives and my fondest memories are from crazy raids. I am not saying that raidlike content should be implemented, but instead that something where you can reserve a night to play with your friends is implemented.
Cosmetics for classes: This will probable be something very important for the gem store since people will want to create a character exactly like they envisioned it. And Asura engineers that are running around with human turret look strange. example would be: Race specific engineer turrets, different spell colors (having a guardian with green spell effects can easily be made to look like a deathknight), different spell elements (a frostfire elementelist for example).
Vehicle bundles in WvW: I have taken this idea from Planetside 2, but in GW2 these would count as siege equipment and would have to be build with supply. These vehicles would have a speed buff to make the travel times between fights shorter. And their already are a couple of good vehicle models ingame, the charr vehicles. Something that would really make me squeal like a fanboy would be to see the charr airships in WvW. These would be inmensly expansive both in gold and supply, and could be guild only (so that you could hang your guild emblem of the sides) and could carry a good 10-15 people around to drop them on the battlefield.
More advanced high level discovery crafting: Currently I have two crafting masteries on 400, and I have noticed that most of the recipes are the same, two components and an insignia. I would like to see more crafting discoveries like that of cooking, where the recipies aren’t just different components to make the same recipe. For example: a sword blade + destroyer core + Ghost tears = Ghostfire sword blade, combine this with a orichalcum sword hilt (maybe some more discovering for the hilt to) and wanted insignia to create a: Ghostfire sword.
More rewards for open world Bosses: I have killed the fallen priest of both Grenth and Lyssa and both have been awesome events but the rewards have been disappointing on both causes. I haven’t seen a single rare drop from these two bosses. I suggest that at least an achievement would be given for killing a fallen priest, of any other open world boss (like the shatterer). I would also like to see at least one rare and maybe a loot bag containing some level 400 crafting materials. This would give more me more insensitive to go out to kill these bosses, cause currently I do not want to go out of my way to try to kill the fallen priest of Balthazar and Dwayna.
These were my ideas that I have thought up playing GW2, please give good criticism, and respect that these are my ideas and opinions.
1) Events should show up zone wide. Dynamic event hunting when you’ve done 100% map is BORING. It’s too hard to find dynamic events at times, I want to see what’s going on in the zone at a glance.
2) Dungeon Tokens either need to be reduced, or rewarded in bigger numbers. Requiring 50+ exploration dungeon runs of the SAME dungeon is not going to keep people playing for longer, it’s going to make people quit sooner. I have no will to do 50+ runs of the same dungeon just for cosmetics.
3) There should of been more dedicated 80 zones, with giant epic events that you don’t see in lower level zones. I mean MASSIVE events, with epic boss fights at the end of them. Entire zone changing events.
4) Since this one is small. Allow us to change the loot key to something other than “interact”. Looting is annoying because you constantly talk to NPCs while looting.
